Flew with Ryanair 2 summers ago was dreadful from start to finish would never use them again even for free, cheap & nasty is the only way to describe it, you get what you pay for and I would gladly pay more if I ever choose to fly again, unfortunately the flights were booked by friends we were holidaying with who thought that cheap flights would be okay with us , personally I would never have entertained it, luckily for them the villa & pool they had found were top notch so I didn't stay grumpy for long.

I get it from your POV.  Difference being, I take several holidays abroad a year.  Most of them are to the Canary Islands.  easyJet, RyanAir, Jet2 are the only airlines which cater for the Canaries.  It's only a 4hr flight, so I don't really mind 'budget'.  I do however really rate Jet2 and easyJet..... RyanAir have been noticeably lacking in quality.

Given that last year, only Michael O'Really's outfit were ranked lower for customer satisfaction, at least it seems people are cottening on.

But they are still flying, and still selling tickets.  I've flown RyanAir twice.... after the first time I said "never again".  The second time, I said "never again".  I probably would fly with them again, if the price was ridiculously cheap (and sometimes they are).

We put up with crap service if the price is right.

The last time I flew with BA, was a short jump from LGW to CDG (a weekend in EuroDisney), that was 3 years ago.  I don't really recall the flight or service, which says it was neither excellent or terrible.

If for some reason I was forced to live in Luton, not going out of my house would be the best thing that could possibly happen to me.  :D

I have a 2017 Vivaro.  I don't think the people from Luton actually leave their house, they just let the monkeys screw the thing together and ship it out.

Don't forget it's actually a French van(could we have a spitting emoji?). I suspect the wine in Luton has an extra h in it :)

Kudos to them.  The Vivaro, (whilst not the most frugal, or refined engine wise*) is the most comfortable van I've ever owned.  I do roughly 40k a year, and it's far superior to the Custom, and the T5.

*Little 1.6M9R with variable geo turbo.  Goes well enough, but I've averaged 30.1MPG since owning (currently 117k)

Did they remember to seam seal the roof panel on yours?

Yep, and in fairness, it looks similar to how I silicone a bath in.  I'm not very good with a silicone gun.  :-[

I don't recall if the Vx ones are the same, but the Saab expanding rivets have a special tool (a screwdriver with a pin on the top of the handle).  It depresses the centre-pin just enough so the rivet can be removed..... the rivet can then be re-used time and time again.

10.9 is 'stronger' than 8.8.  There are certain applications where using 12.9 or 10.9 would be no good (Hydrogen embrittlement for electroplated bolts as an example), but for your wishbones, they will be fine, in fact, better than 8.8.  :y

So an anti lockdown protest at Trafalgar Square today involving thousands is a good idea is it ??? ::) >:(

As per earlier in the month, I assume the organisers of this rally will be fined the highest amount?

OK, so I've found the exact pads I need.

OPEL   93802167
SAAB  12802167

So, what brand to go for (discs and pads)?

Are Brembo really as shite as everyone says?  Is BluePoint the 'official' supplier for Vx nowadays, and are they any good?

Ideally, with the Discs, I'd like them to be painted/coated in the hub and vanes area as not to oxidise quickly.

Must suit quite fast road.  Again, don't mind paying extra for good results.

And BG, I'm on UKS, and as great a forum it is, I find answers here for things not quite Saab specific to be better.  :y

Site should give the pad dimensions...

Don’t suppose the calipers include old pads :-\

No, that would be too easy!  ;D

For reference;

And for a comparison to the standard calliper fitted to a 260BHP car, and the new;

Note: This is not my photo, but one taken from 't'web

Have a look at the Brembo retail website thingy...

That will give you the part number for more indepth rummaging  :y

Thanks DG.  I think I've got the Discs alright, as there is only two options (One coated, and the other not).

Coming up with 3 different Pad options though.  :-\

I have the Reg Number of the breaker car DA07 FVN, and all sites I've tried (inlcusing the Brembo site) come up with three options.  :'(

General Car Chat / Brake Disc & Pad P/N Request
« on: 18 September 2020, 19:25:03 »
Please.

314mm Discs and Pads (FRONT) (Vauxhall Fitment for Vec C 3.2 and Signum 2.8, Saab 9-3 2.8 )

I've just got a great deal on a pair of callipers for my DE 9-5.  They are direct fit, but I will need the slightly larger discs and corresponding pads.

My local Saab parts supplier wants £147+VAT per Disc and £78+VAT for Pads.  :o

Wondered if anyone has any links for Vauxhall product or any suggestions as a better alternative?  I don't mind spending serious money if it's beneficial.

Not really interested in Track style products, more fast road use.

Many Thanks.

or it could just need the cable adjusting if it was too many clicks
are they shoes in the disc like omega or ratchet ones that use the pads  :-\
not expensive really whatever the issue
Signum uses the Vectra setup, which is pure disc at the rear, so seized cable is likely, esp on an auto, due to lack of use.

Now that is interesting, as the Saab 9-5 (an older design, but in production until 2010) uses the drum within disc setup.

Mine are both Auto's, and have never failed on handbrake efficiency.  I NEVER use the handbrake except for on the way to an MOT where it gets a workout whilst rolling to clean the crap from the inside of the drum.
