Omega General Help / Re: E bay exhausts
« on: 17 June 2007, 13:36:04 »
Just wondering.

How difficult/easy is this job on the drive with jack and axle stands?

I have recently spent quite a bit on exhaust bits over the past year (over £300) and don't think its finished there. :'(

Omega General Help / Re: Seriously uneven tyre wear
« on: 22 June 2007, 09:25:11 »
I had exactly the same problem and was advised by the local tyre fitter to get the geometry checked. I got this done and the steering pulled badly to the left. Took it back for another look and the bushes (Which ones I can't remember) needed replacing. Had all the work done and it now seems fine.

Hope  this helps in some way. :)

What a good idea. I would never have thought of that and would have ended up with shredded rubber :y :y

Omega General Help / Cill Rubber Removal
« on: 16 June 2007, 22:06:20 »
Please can someone let me know how to remove the cill rubber on a facelift Omega. I have to repair some rust that has appeared right on the egde between the kick plate and the rubber by the drivers door and I need to remove the rubber to deal with it properly.

I am going to install cruise control in my 2001 2.2CD and understand from another post that this is quite easy to do.

I have managed to find the correct indicator stalk, with the controls, but need to find someone who can turn this on in the ECU.

Does anyone know if there is anyone, other than the VX dealer, in Cornwall who has the kit and the knowhow. If not what do I need to ask the dealer to do?
Sorry, not going down possibly until september...

Hey, thanks for the reply. If you really want to spend you holiday fixing cars for idiots like me it would be great to meet. I am in no rush so if I don't get anywhere I will let you know.

When you come to Cornwall are you in a caravan or what? Where do you stay?
in a tent, near Leedstown....

Ooohh thats near St Ives, our favourite place in the world. We are going there for three weeks in August, towing our caravan although because we live so close I don't feel too guilty about towing a van :-[ In fact we don't take the van out of the county so I don't feel guilty at all ;)
