Omega General Help / Re: Doors locks and solenoids

Morning all,
I have acquired a second omega to poach for parts to improve my own.. same colour and trim etc to make life easier...
first on the agenda is replacing the drivers door, door card and hinges not a problem but wondered if It’s as simple as unplug remove and swap, is there anything to consider on the remote central locking/alarm front. I’m assuming the drivers door actuator is the master for the system, does the coded signal come from ecu end it is there anything in the door that would need to be swapped?

While we are on the drivers door what about the lock barrel? Can this be removed and swapped so I don’t end up with a different key to open the door (should central locking fail?)

Still on central locking rear passenger side door solenoid has had it so was going to swap that out as well so I guess same question really straight swap or any trickery involved?

Thanks
Joe.

Any help ????

That's come up outstanding, and looks in great condition for any Omega, even better for a PFL.

A credit to you.

 :y

I've had her from new, and she is kept inside in internal Garage to house so pampered and warm ;)

Only use her in the dry if I can, and about 1k miles a year  :y

Just clocking up 60k I think.

Got a new full cat back ETS exhaust on her now (GM one started to blow so replaced both centre and rear ones so save mucking about) and it does sound much like she used to now with her Growl back - GM replacement several years ago I think made her quiet from original.  Eagle eyed may note the twin tailpipes as I fitted the 3.0 exhaust :y  Mine is the 2.5 V6 but Manual Gearbox and I must admit surprises people off the lights  :y

Daz has helped me out with a few gremlins over the years and is a top fella.  So far, all is well with the car and due Cambelt & Tensioner change soon so will hopefully be visiting Stoke soon hopefully.

Thanks all for the comments  :)

 :y Nice honest mota.

I do like the Opel Grille.  I considered changing mine to the Opel one, but struggling to find a decent one for the MFL.

Same colour as mine then if Jungle Green / Velvet Green  :y http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=143088.0

Trying out the new Snowfoam and Detail Finish spray (in between 6 monthly wax)

She not a bad looker considering 18 and a half years old.

Hope you like the pics.  I've had her from new and wouldn't part with her  :y
