Any ideas on a name, I was thinking Elite as the first top spec omegas were, Opel as in the jewel but I get the point and yes, GM Europe were trying to sell both VX and opels through the one dealer network in the early 1980s? Possibly to fase out VX and thankfully it failed!

Eather way we are looking at the thinking executives car here, Vauxhalls Lexus before they started making ugly cars 😋

For tax reasons you'd think the DVLA would have up to date info?
I know that's logical but seemed a good place to start, thankfully while my CD is a 1999 car it's one of the few to ba any colour but silver

I have no idea why there's no mention of the 2.2, the site seems to be backed by DVLA, the reason I asked the question in the first place was that a nother site listed above came back with different numbers but was far more complicated as there seemed to be a lot of repartition, that said I was tired at the time.

According to how many left ? the  2.2 petrol isn't listed.
They have 2.5 V6 auto and manual, TD automatic / manual, CD, CD automatic and duel fule so it's hard to calculate.
The CD model is one of the common ones but the engine and gearbox choices are what make mine a rare car according to the figures on that site

If you sold the new product for £50,000, loaded with luxury and plush finishes and the technology to make it appealing with a 100,000 mile warranty I would hope it would at least get a second look from any BMW, Audi or Mercedes customer?
Clearly not badged as VX or Opel it would stand out?
Maybe fase out the Opel name and sell VX throughout Europe and slowly reintroduce the Opel as the high end brand?
If memory serves, Opel a precious stone?

Looking like it won't be long before they stand out in a crowd then!
I can see it being another senator, fondly remembered and only one on eBay

there are over 3000 omegas taxed around the U.K. The majority seem to be CD spec although numbers vary depending on the site your on.
Of that the majority on used sites are 2.2 petrol, 2.2 DTi and 2.6V6s.

I was advised to show my CD because they are becoming less common for the reasons you've said and I guess that's one reason I have one of 15 left

Yes but you need to start somewhere and saying your product is reliable is a good start and VX have done this before

I think it said VDO 2005, I'll check though as sad as it sounds I'd like to keep her accurate to the build order

I guess tyre choices are all personal and I know Michelin are heard wearing and expensive but my CD has been running Dunlop most of its life and I find they grip better and for the most part tell me when they are losing grip slowly.
Given the fact this is my first RWD car I can't fault them.

Morning,
I've been looking into weather the Omega is Likely to become a classic after conversations with insurance companies led me to understand that any Vauxhall can be recognised as a classic after it's 20th birthday, I've been getting steadily increasing positive feed back about my CD and a couple of mates have suggested I show her in the summer as a future classic.

Going on line there seem to be two sites offering data on how rare my car is, the DVLA backed "how many left" sated my 2.5 CD Automatic is 1 of 15 taxed and there were some 30 SORN if memory serves.
However there also Omega CDs listed without engine type i.e. 2.2 or 2.6.

How rare is my car by contrast stated in the region of 28 Omega 2.5CD V6 automatics  are currently taxed and these are in fact the most common models on the road.

So reinstate the 100,000 mile warranty to the whole VX range and launch a car in the executive class, with a standard kit as mentions above and we are on the right track?

So just one out and one in?
Maybe cheaper than a referb of the current unit
