General Discussion Area / Re: Senator back box on Omega?

I had an unexpected surprise when I did a tight turn and forgot my ABS ECU had packed up! Still, that's what 3 litres and rear wheel drive is for, a bit of fun now again! As long as no one is about and it doesn't hurt anyone!

I know that, which is why most other (lesser!) drivers wonder why they leave the road when they have TC! What they don't realise is that all driven wheels lose traction, hence the difference in acceleration between different wheels is not sensed, therefore TC is not actuated. Anyway, despite its size, the omega is the best handling car I've ever had (as an allrounder), I think it's best suited to long sweeping bends, fast a roads and fast roundabouts where it puts alot of perceived better cars to shame. Not that I'm some sort of lunatic racer, I just enjoy a spirited drive now and again!

I read it on the forum, cannot remember where though. I never have TC turned off and have lost traction on good ground well above 30 mph (before my ABS ECU packed up). It was on a bend though.

Yeah, perhaps it's just fond memories but my 24v Senator seemed to go like a rocket compared to my 2000 3.0 Elite saloon. And with no traction control it was a handful! (I know it only works upto 30mph though!) The senator I had in the falklands was a 24v but wasn't a CD if I remember rightly and had cloth seats? Due to the cold and lots of short journeys I was averaging 6mpg!

Remember Senators? Brilliant! I had a 24v in the Falklands of all places!!! Then a 12v back here! I reminisce! Anyway, just wondering if anyone thinks that the twin rectangular back box from a Senator would look good on an Omega? I don't know if it will fit but would adapt it. Do you think it will look good? Thanks

It seems most of the wood treatments are all water based now, probably because of some silly irrelevant directive form an even sillier beauracrat in Brussels. If you're doing your whole fence, before you concrete your posts in, stand them in a container of whatever treatment you're using (ideally oil based), for as long as you can to let it soak up the goodness! Don't forget to do the tops aswell or use covering caps so rain doesn't get in the end grain!

Hi, just been looking in the gallery section and saw some pics from 'Billing 2010'. Just wondered if someone could tell me about it please. Obviously some kind of car show, but where and when etc?!?!?!?! It looks like Vauxhall heaven! Thanks!
