It didn't become part of Santander by any chance  ::)

Notwithstanding, some companies seem to relish making a difficult time as arduous and obnoxious as possible.

In this day and age the whole process should only take five minutes and possibly a phone call ???

Birmingham Midshires.

General Discussion Area / Prudential v. Building Society

My Mother didn't leave a will, but that was no problem as we tided up her affairs a few years ago.

However, on going through her effects we came across an two old insurance policies and an old building society account, none worth a lot of money.

Rang the Pru, they took a few details including the death certificate number, a few details from me and four days later I received two cheques.

Did the same with the building society which holds less money than the insurance and they've sent me 10 very complicated forms to fill in.

In addition they want my passport, driving licence and copies of household bills plus they are going to charge me a hefty admin. fee.

I should add, this particular building society closed all it's branches several years ago and went internet only.

Makes you wonder if our ebay admin. uses them ???

I hear Boris is considering Jeremy for a Knighthood for his contribution to getting the Conservatives an overwhelming majority in the House of Commons.

My dustcaps with the logo kept getting nicked so I gave up in the end and just stuck with the black/grey plastic type. One set got nicked while we were away in the caravan and the car was alongside it. I'd always trusted my fellow campers/tourers until then.  >:(

The metal caps? ..... They're normally stuck solid

On my lads car we had to run a hacksaw across the top of the metal cap and split them off. If they're not touched for a while they don't half grip don't they.  :y

Plastic, learned my lesson in the past with metal. ;)

So far Auto Addict has got the closest, but I think it may be too small, and research online shows the Bush ones may suffer bad reliability issues.

I'm gonna cut out a bit of cardboard to that size and see how it looks :y

We just try to please :)
