The point about the cost of the kitchen is a valid one, I suppose. Two things come to mind:

1. Folk move into social housing when it's needed and, as their situation improves, stay there. A secure tenancy is not to be sniffed at these days.

2. Some people would be silly enough to go into debt for a nice, fitted kitchen. Doesn't necessarily mean they can afford it.

Without wanting to cause a stir (and having no experience of social housing) shouldn't it be the case that as the situation improves people move out? If not for any other reason to free up property for those who still have a 'situation' causing them to need the help?

Sounds like you did a crap job. :)
Its not my worry, I'm moving. :P

What, you haven't taken up the floor Steve to move it to your new home?!! :o :o :o

You tight sod!............................ ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)
You have no idea the work that is involved when moving out of social housing, Lizzie. All the work I have done over the last thirteen years has to be undone. I have to turn it back into the shithole I moved into, or they will do it and charge me a fortune.
Light fittings removed and replace with pendants, carpets (only a year old) skipped, laminate flooring skipped etc, etc.
They can fick off if they expect me to remove all the tiling and worktops etc.

A woman I know spent £6000 on a beautiful new kitchen for her council house. Eighteen months later she moved and left it in situ. :-\

Surely if you can afford to spend £6000 on a new kitchen then you really shouldn't be in social housing?!

The whole thing sounds crazy to me, why would you be charged for improvements made to the property?

If it was put back to standard it would probably a pretty looking car - sounds like it's been looked after well, apart from the dubious styling changes

We have 1 server left with NT4 - it was virtualised a while ago for fear of the hardware letting go... I'll be glad to see it go, but it's run fine for the last 12 years....

I fitted the 2.0l exhaust to mine at the weekend - all went quite well, apart from trouble removing all the little clips that stop the rubber fixings sliding off.

Also replaced both front central door locking motors (many thanks for the guide on here for that)

The n/s one didn't work at all previously, and the drivers one was very hit and miss.

I called Vx for my 2.2 system...   from Vx it was about £370+vat in parts...  or £65 delivered from ETS

Guess where I got it from??

On the subject of tyres...  my new CDX has Primewell PZ900's on it and they're surprisingly good, not to mention cheap :)

lots of reviews about road noise, but they're very quiet on the omega.

Perhaps build a nice big wall to separate things?

Surely this is classed as criminal damage?

Tell him he needs to pay for it to be put right, or pursue it through police/small claims.

Hi All,

Sorry to ask possibly a silly question, but does the 2.0l /2.2l exhaust fitting apply to all 2.2's FL& PFL?

I just wanted to check before I order this (link below) for my 2003 2.2

Thanks :)

I've updated my iPhone 5 today - it all seems to work nicely :)

No issues with the download or install

General Car Chat / Re: Does anyone know this car?
« on: 08 September 2014, 11:14:19 »
Just a little update - apart from a slight blow in the exhaust the car is starting perfectly now - even from cold (left all of Sunday - started instantly this morning at 0700 so was fairly cold outside)

I think perhaps where the car hadn't been used on the road since March (when the last tax ran out) it was dirty/old fuel, and the ecu re-adjusting after having the battery off?

I went to go and see a C250 Estate (diesel) a few weeks ago, it was fairly local - however on my way there, phone call...  "Sorry the person coming to see it later arrived early and I've sold it to him"

I was not happy...   :o

Got 463 miles from a tankful on the 3.2  8)

I've had over 500 miles from a tank before on my first Mv6 I had - that was south coast to west Wales and back
