don't mention abs ecu failure to me lol. seems quite common this.

it may be worth a squirt of wd40 on the gear things at the back that do the abs etc?

Just in case, some friends of mine run this business in Stoke-on-Trent... :y

All the above I agree is well valid,

Just a thought though, with all the salt on the roads recently, I wonder if the abs stator teeth on the rear of the car could be contaminated.

I've noticed recently that when I use almost full throttle in sport mode it's as though the TC is kicking in by reducing the revs and spluttering a wee bit.  I've cleaned the teeth off whilst checking the car over for an MOT, it seems to have cleared the fault, coincidence!  Maybe..  :-?

Where exactly is the bung? Which is best side of the car to get to it? Thanks

The bung is central, so either side, it's in the faceplate directly between the rear of the engine sump and the bell housing and facing forward, it's about 30mm across.... hope this helps.

If there is oil in there try to establish what oil it is, it could be that you've got a leak on your crank rear oil seal as indeed I have, it seems to have subsided somewhat for no reason!  ::)

The bloody thing passed with flying colours!

I'd had to put some wishbones on and the rear shocks, had the exhaust repaired by my mate at www.dtmetallictechnology.co.uk , the pipes at the rear of the two middle backboxes had to be cut short and the back box pipes lengthened to reach, all in stainless steel too!  other than that no advisories, not bad for 130k miles on the clock and 11 years old  :)

Omega General Help / MOT looming !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Strangers,
Just fitted a pair of rear ride leveller shocks as the originals were leaking oil ( A big Thanks to Loo Knee for getting hold of a pair for me)  Gave it a general check over, wishbone bushes truly *****d, ordered a pair from fleabers, just an observation though, I've noticed a wee bit of seepage of  a clear / straw coloured oil around the steering box, this is NOT red dexron, it's a slightly thicker viscosity too.  I assume that this is just the hypoid gear oil type stuff?
Q: Can this be topped up? Secondly, will this necessarily be a fail or just an observation?

Suggestions, most welcome....  ::)

I did the same and duly noticed the same, I think it'a a case of, it was sagging  due to faulty shocks in the first place and now it's correct...   :)

Well, Wifey has been driving the Omagna today, she says it's been revving high and giving some funny harsh gear changes, short journeys only, so, I'm thinking it's when it's going off cold start!

Think I'll use it tonight to give it a good ragging, we'll see  ::)

Mmmmmmmmmmmm!  I think it's the Wifey myself, never missed a beat for me, it's deffo sharper on the acceleration front  :)
Seems to tick over smoother too....  :y

Ok, it's fitted and started every time since, no stalling when ticking over, yet!  This maybe a figment of imagination, the tickover does seem smoother, it has spluttered a wee bit in the near past.... we shall see..

Watch this space  :-X

The progress so far, first of all, a massive thanks to the Massive Loo Knee  ;) for reading my codes, though there weren't any :-/  Got me a new VX CPS (Crank Position Sensor) VX got the one for my reg, it must have been a Friday afternoon car, as they have it down as the earlier more expensive one, so, slight delay, got the right one now!

Haven't had chance to fit it yet, doing it on the morrow.

Today, however, it decided to start, I left it to idle for a while, it stalled and wouldn't start again, the paperclip showed a code 12 only, after the paperclip test it decided to start straight away  ::)

So it's all on tomorrow, fortunately I've got a contact to fully test the ECU just in case.

I'll be back. no doubt  :D

Yup, paperclip it :y

Yeh!  Shall have to on the morrow...  other than that, is there any particular sequence that will show up when cranking, i.e. the engine light does actually flicker slightly when cranking, is that an indication that the cs is signalling?  the rev counter bounces slightly too  :D

Was hoping to do Newent I owe a certain person a few beers  ;)
