Changed the starter motor wiring loom today as that came with the replacement engine and may have seen some abuse but no joy, still exactly the same. I get absolutely nothing on the turn of the key. A mechanic told me that the electronic part of ignition switches on Vauxhalls can go and this may explain why nothing is happening when I twist the key. What do I replace and how do I do it?

I am getting code 135: telltale checklight voltage low but what does this indicate? How do I rectify this?

No.
Just realised. You are really local to me. I'm in Wellingborough.

That relay is for headlight washers but the immobiliser light is staying on. I have the code number, is there any way of reprogramming it ?

I've fitted a new engine and battery, came to start her today and nothing. I have all electrical systems working (bar a dodgy passenger side window) I turn the key and nothing, no drop in power. There are relay sounds coming from the throttle body switch but nothing coming from the starter motor. I have looked in the relay box in the engine bay and there is a missing relay in position 2. This has a 30A fuse piggybacked to the side. Could it be this? If so, what relay do I need and where can I get it from?

What system does the pre facelift use? OBD2/EOBD

No, not yet. Is there a how to? I'm no mechanic, I just like to give things a go. I do have the possibility of someone with a diagnostic link for the car, will this cure the problem or just tell me what the fault is?

I have another thread with a similar question but it appears part way through the thread so I'll ask it here. I have fitted a new engine and the immobiliser light is permenantly on. I have the code card with the code number on. Can I reprogram it myself like on Renaults or do I need to get some one out? The engine has been out of the car for over a year and I did not take it out, I bought as is. I have reinstalled it myself and this is the stumbling block. Help!

Its the abs ecu. Be sure to get one from the same year, model and transmission designation as yours. There is a how to guide here. It can be done but its bloddy fiddly!

Did you say with LPG? What plugs have you put in? I think the MAF idea may be plausible too. The other thing that is ringing in my mind is whether the timing belt has jumped a tooth. You'd get erratic running but I don't know whether it would register as a misfire.

Also,I wish you'd stop bloody quoting me. I deleted the second post straight after the first as I realised it was a mistake and Tunnie had already flipping quoted me. :D

Definately sure you've connected the leads up correctly and did you use a new DIS?

If you were closer, I'd do it. Its not a difficult job to do, well within the scope of a first timer. If you want some help, we'll gladly talk you through it. I think there is a how to on here too...
