General Discussion Area / Flat Roof
« on: 27 June 2019, 11:15:21 »
I need a flat roof relaying.

I have received two quotes.

Quote 1: Strip existing felt
re-cover 1st layer with 4mm underlay torch on felt.
cover 2nd layer with 4mm polyester torch on felt.

Quote 2: Remove existing felt.
Fix to prepared surface a three layer roof pour and roll system. Base layer 180 SBS partially bonded to roof deck. Intermediate layer 180 SBS sanded fully bonded in hot bitumin. Cap sheet 350 SBS mineral fully bonded in hot bitumin & clean lap finished.

The quotes are roughly the same for price.

Does anyone know which is the best system to use or the pros and cons of each.

Thank you

Omega General Help / Oil Leak
« on: 17 April 2019, 10:25:23 »
I have a oil leak that I can't track down.

The garage I took it to say it is very small and is coming from the head gasket. The general opinion on OOF seem to be that this is not very likely. I have posted a couple of images that I hope will show where the oil is appearing and am looking for any advice on where it might be coming from.

« on: 28 November 2018, 09:37:47 »
Hope someone can help.

I have a couple of floodlights wired  together and operated through an ordinary light switch off the lighting circuit, which is not RCD protected. If I connected another feed to them via a separate pir detector coming off the ring main, which is RCD protected, would it work, or is it likely to keep tripping out?

Thanks.

Omega General Help / Centre Steering Track Rod

As above, need one for MOT. Where is the best place to get one of reasonable quality/price fairly quickly?

I have a local place with a Delphi Brand. Any good?

Thanks.

Thanks for confirming that.  :y Filed them down and lock working properly again. If I get anymore trouble with it then I will rebuild with new tumblers.

Omega General Help / Ignition lock

I have removed the lock from the barrel and have noticed that a couple of the tumblers are standing  proud of the others. Is this what would stop the  key from turning? If so will it require new tumblers?

Thanks

If you do decide to scrap it I could be interested in the front bumper if it's in reasonably good condition.

Omega General Help / A couple of torque settings required
« on: 02 February 2018, 13:08:07 »
Apologies if this has been posted before, but having searched I can't find the information.

Please can anyone give the torque value for the oil pressure switch with the integral alloy washer? It appears the value with the copper washer is 40Nm but is it different for the integral alloy washer?

Is there a torque value for the aux belt tensioner pulley bolt please.

Thank you.

Sounds to me as if the connecting rod from the door catch to the outside handle has become disconnected.

This might help, 8th picture down.
