Dusty, you could not be more wrong.
We must all accept that women are better at some things and men are better at other things.
for example. Women are better at cooking, cleaning, and fetching the coal.
Men are better at Making decisions, running the world and of course.........driving. So now you know.
Nice to have you on board Dusty........ :y :y :y :y :y :y :y :y :y

I for one am in favour of the Nanny state of gizmo in cars.

For every "good" natural driver there are 10 incompentant nut jobs who should not be aloud near 35hp let alone 535bhp...

My Mondeo is almost a death trap in the wrong hands when driven hard, but due the traction control any mug can drive fast, in control..

I agree that TC is fine everyday use, but I maintain we should have the right to turn it off completely if we want to. Track days etc. etc

It's a Nanny culture and it doesn't just stop at Traction Control you'll find that over time it will invade all parts of our lives even parts we don't want it too.

It's the thin end of the wedge. :(

Just read a road test on the Mercedes C55.

Now I like these cars, a 5.5 litre V8 and about 367BHP, all in a car the size of a Mondeo/Vectra, make this an ideal hooligans car (pity its not supercharged)

Anyway, naturally it has traction control, but the report said that you cannot fully disengage the traction control system, even when you turn it off at the switch. Apparently the electronics of the car, will only allow partial disengagement.

Am I the only one who is sick and tired of this Nanny knows best mentality. It really pi***s me off.

Yer I like traction control, and I'm sure its helped the ladies of the forum out on one or two occassions on wet roads.

But we men on this Forum need to be able to turn our traction control systems off completely.

I'm sick of 155MPH speed limiters on cars that will do over 200MPH, and Nanny Benz is one of the worst culprits for this.

Am I alone in these views :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/

Have had a 2.0 estate Omega inthe past.{auto}.I think these are the least economical of all. About 25 MPG on a run.
Its the old problem ,too much weight plus too little power leads to too  many gear changes and big throttle openings. :-?
