Is it ok for my '51 Reg 2.6, which leaks from some unknown place and needs topping up monthly? Obviously has an AR25 box?, but I understand that the AR35 is stronger.
If so, could you fit it for me and for how much?
PM me with details if affirmative.

Ron.

Am sure serek would fit the gearbox, if Mr humbucker could deliver it. :y

Already on it ;)

Excellent condition AR35 automatic gearbox removed from my Irmscher MV6. Only ditching it as I am converting the car to manual transmission.

Works perfectly, gear changes smooth, no problems whatsoever. Removed from 3.2 V6, but would suit 3.0 etc.

£75 collected from Cambs (they're going for £200 on the 'Bay!  ;D)

The engine, leather and gearbox are out of the car now. Everything is available, feel free to make me an offer on any bits and pieces that you need. Almost every part of the car is up for grabs.

A pair of rear coil springs for the Omega, code LA, virtually new. These springs are as good as new and saw very little use before removal. No rust, the paint is all present and correct etc. Ideal replacements for your worn items.

£30 plus postage.

MV6 carbon trim for sale. Dash/centre console, ashtray, panel beneath handbrake.

Dash pieces/ashtray are MINT. Not a mark on them, as good as new. Best I've seen.

Under handbrake panel has a couple of light scratches (pictured), but would easily polish out. I'm being fussy tbh.

£40 posted for the lot.

I also have matching door cards in mint condition if you're interested in buying some more carbon joy to enhance the interior of your Omega.

Oh, and the Z22SE has no pedal trick/paperclip test for fault code reading - you have to have access to a diagnostic machine. I've got a genuine Tech 2, so it was no bother, but I know plenty of owners who have found themselves running around in circles chasing a problem without being able to determine what the fault is (without an expensive dose of 'trial and error').

I would think twice about having another 2.2 tbh. I had one in my Linea Rossa edition Mk4 Astra Coupe, and while these engines have a huge following (http://www.Z22SE.co.uk is a valuable resource) they seem incredibly underpowered considering their displacement (148bhp in stock form iirc).

There is an issue with earlier engines in the form of a restricted oil feed to the timing chain that has seen a massive number of lumps go pop. It was actually a factory recall, and I think I'm right in saying that a replacement oil feed pipe comes as part of each timing chain kit. Check to see when the chain was last changed. Later engines shouldn't suffer from this problem. The affected engine number range is well documented online. Check it against any potential purchase.

I found the 2.2 to be quite thirsty (the Astra's replacement, a 250bhp turbocharged 2.3-litre Saab Aero estate is way more fuel efficient), but will prove to be reliable if well maintained. Given the options available to you, I would opt for a Zafira GSi or simillar (an MPV with a turbocharged two-litre Z20LET in place). Don't forget, the VXR edition of the Zafira is/was the fastest people carrier in the world - essentially, an Astra VXR on stilts!

Then again, if you're after a forced induction solution and don't mind the Z22SE, you'll be pleased to know that a bolt-on supercharger kit can be found in the form of the 2.4-litre Chevrolet Cobalt Eaton M62 unit from the USA. The engines share the same characteristics and it's a pretty straightforward upgrade. I've written about a number of these conversions for Total Vauxhall magazine.

Of course, loads of people rave about the Z22SE, a fact confirmed by its huge following and a dedicated forum of chuffed Astra, Vectra, VX220, Signum and Zafira owners. That said, you can't help but feel that the Z20LET offers a bit more poke and a lot more fun :)

Removed from my donor MV6. In excellent working order, 90k ish miles when I got it, runs like a dream. Only ditching it as I have a replacement 3.2 for the project car (bought the donor for its gearbox). Would make an ideal upgrade for Omega/Cavalier/Calibra/Vectra V6 owners looking for extra horsepower and torque, an ideal engine for lesser-powered project cars, or simply to replace your tired 3.0-litre lump.

£300 collected from Cambridgeshire.  :y

*cough cough* I bought these from Vauxhall for £39.36 plus the dreaded. That was a couple of years ago (I've only just removed them from the packaging), but they are definitely some kicking about.

I think they're also supposed to be a fire retardant, or at least to protect the engine in case your battery decides to go pop.

Yes, I have had them on all my cars - Cavalier Turbos, Omegas, Astra etc, all present correct.

My Saab has a big plastic box wrapped around the battery and proper straps holding the unit in place. The Swedes don't do things by halves!

This has also been floating my boat of late: Glenfiddich Distillery Edition, 15 years old, 51%. Stunning.

http://www.glenfiddich.com/uk/collection/special-editions/distillery-edition/

"A higher strength single malt Scotch whisky, crafted with our century-old traditions. After at least 15 years maturing in traditional American oak and Spanish oak, it is non-chill filtered to protect its subtle flavours.

Unique floral and peppery notes are released and a sweet, velvet, warm finish.

Presented in smoky grey and gold – an evocative whisky for the discerning whisky drinker."
