utterly abhorrant disgusting tacky politically correct nonsense - thats my verdict of smart cars  ;)

I assume you must all be refering to the original Smart - Fortwo. I can almost see the appeal of them, but having seen the crash test that they performed on Fifth Gear(?) into one of concrete blocks they use for long term lane closures on the motor I could never ever consider driving one any where other than around town. If you did survive it you'd have no legs.  :(  :o
The ForFours are hideous, but I think that the 2 Roadsters really look the part - all 700cc(?) of them.

Auto has got rather long ratios ;).....
Senator's were longer overall. Same gear box (so I assume same ratios) but my Omega is 'only' doing 85ish at 3000rpm. My 24v Senator was doing 90ish at 3000rpm (AutoCar of the day quoted 29mph/1000rpm)

Every door has some kind of rust spot the worst being a 10p sized scab on the bottom half of the driver's! I know it's a 99 car but I would have expected better.  :(

After not riding for 20 years I didn't want a really fast bike. 135 top is fast enough for the bike & a ton is more than fast enough for me. Besides, a lot of the bikes I sat on had my knees up around my ears - & I'm only 6'

PS have you seen the price of fizzys on eBay? :o

I know.  You try real hard to make it look like you're really hungry and VERY grateful for the delicious meal she's prepared, but actually, you just want to run out the back door and throw up on the cat!
Like having to eat pie chips peas & gravy for break-fast when you've got up after a night shift :-?

My 3.0 is showing 25.8 mpg which is from mostly motorway use 80mph(ish)
Lend your car to my Mrs. She'll get it down more for you. She only has 2 positions for the go pedal - all the way up & all the way down. A few winters back she used  my car for her 3 or 4 mile journey to work & succeeded in reducing the mpg from around 20 to 16.8 mpg!

It was a SD 1/one.

I was lent a Rover 2.7 for a day. You needed a football field to turn the thing around in - the turning circle was abysmal, and the torque steer meant you were fighting it all the time, particularly on roundabouts.

From the other side of the fence, so to speak, can be amusing watching folks walking round there car, popping the bonnet, kicking tyres and the like...

Then looking across the road and then the look on their face as penny drops....    :)

Looks like we are going to be on either side of no mans land over this..
Probably. We often hear & see tales where the one rule for us and another rule for you is used.
.

As was said before in this 'wee story' it's just one incident but if the boot was on the other civilian foot I think we would be walking or cycling to work.
