Is it not simply frozen to the door seal?

Say what you like about Trump, but consider that the SNP 500 grew 20% in 2017...
The SNP 500?  ;D ;D ;D I knew Nicola was looking a bit chunkier, but I didn’t think she’d grown 20%.
I think you mean the S&P which, indeed grew 20% last year. It grew 47% in Obama’s first year.
That's the one ;)

Two of the three highest years growth since 2008...

Twitter and Facebook are sadly a modern way of communication ones message. Unfortunately those that subscribe to them only speak in soundbites, which renders tweets largely useless for anything. Still utterly inappropriate forae for government though.

Trump comes across as pigshit thick for two reasons...

1. He is rather verbose so struggles to convey his point with any degree of accuracy in a soundbite. An example of this would be the, "My button is bigger than yours." Tweet. Everybody knows that from most measures, the US out performs North Korea, especially from a military perspective. Trumps choice of words wasn't great, but how else do you convey such a message when limited to seventy something characters and directing it at someone like Kim Jong...

2. He doesn't read well from autocues, especially when he hasn't written the statement in front of him. He is otherwise a very good orator, and when speaking from his heart, actually conveys very well, regardless of whether you agree or not with what he is saying.

Of course, he could simply be pigshit thick... although I doubt it.

Shouldn't we have emoticons depicting a man dying slowly and horribly, whilst nailed to a bit of wood for Easter?  ::)

Only ONE man? My list is longer than that!

Ron.
It's an efficiency thing... crucify the right person and you get all the sheeple too ;)

Omega General Help / Re: Suspension bolt part numbers...

My mistake re M12/M14 for the strut bolts :-[

But deffo 18mm... I used a spanner on the bolt head and slackend the nuts with a breaker and short extension.

My experience of Omegas (from memory, been about two years since last one I did) is the following...

16mm for the pinch bolt,
18mm for strut bolts and factory/gm balljoints,
19mm for aftermarket ball joints,
21mm for wishbone bush bolts.

Only need a deep 21 for the vertical bolt if you fit the horizontal bolt in this position  ;)

I will replace the pinch bolt and strut bolts from the sizes given above, and reuse the wishbone ones, I possibly have a spare or two of these if they're a bit beaten up ;)

Thanks both :y

I normally reuse the lot, but this car has totally unknown history. Pinch bolt can take a kicking if seized in.

Have a fastening supplier locally, so should be able to source suitable for peanuts.

This car has 18mm/M14 strut bolts, only a 2.2 GLS, so possibly a pre/post facelift thing :-\

Just tweaked the camber as a temporary measure and on of them wouldn't tighten... Fortunately a bottom one, rather that the adjustment one... But reason that it might be an idea to swap the lot ;)

Omega General Help / Suspension bolt part numbers...
« on: 06 January 2018, 21:06:12 »
Does anyone happen to have the part numbers for the following nuts and bolts?

1. Front strut to hub.
2. Hub pinch.
3. Front wishbone vertical.
4. Front wishbone horizontal.

Ta ;)

How clean does the metal work need to be? Thinking to cut the bulk of the rubber off and take a file to the remnants :-\

Lift the pump and check for gunge ;)

But gunge won't stop a working pump from whirring  ;)
Most likely cause of pump failure though...

The Sound deadening basics: a) doesn't work and b) it holds about a litre of water.

Does removing it stop the scuttle leaking? No. But it does stop the water from collecting and dripping onto the coil pack/camcover.

So is removing it an effective cure to the issue of wet coil packs and plug wells? Yes.

We will have to agree to disagree on the technical merits of spending an afternoon trying to get 17 year old heat soaked plastics to fit neatly versus two minutes spent removing some soggy foam ;)
