Omega General Help / Re: Exhaust query
« on: 04 October 2007, 18:42:41 »
Thanks for the reply - shame they're all pre-facelift that  I find. I have attached a picture of what my exhaust looks like  :o
Where it's gone, do I just need the rear section? Is this part alone interchangable with pre facelifts? No wonder it's so loud  :-[

I will be needing a replacement exhaust at some point and have been looking at some on Ebay. Some of them say they are for cars 1994-1999, does this mean they changed when facelifts came along or when the new engines came along or are they all the same really?!
Cheers  :y

Hi Andy, looking at the bars which attach the wipers to each other - all looks ok to the untrained eye. The top bar does rock forwards and backwards on ball joints over the bottom bar but it doesn't feel wrong... Running without wiper arms looks fine as far as I can tell...

I have just replaced the damaged wiper and reseated both arms and all started ok, they then got out of sync and crossed over again - any ideas?  :'(

I was driving in the rain yesterday and my wipers crossed each other and one got mangled!
I turned them on again with the blade of the driver's side taken off and the passenger one just kept going past where it should. I then pushed it back into place and now it sort of seems to work ok - although it is bashing against the bonnet. Does anyone know what could have happened and does it sound bad?
Cheers!

Just to confuse matters further  ::)

Maybe its only facelifts......but in my handbook.....it clearly shows warning lights under the TID display for brake pads/auto headlamp range/autobox fault   :-/

That's what I was wondering as mine does display a gearbox error below my TID...

Will a 2000 TID display any of those? As in another thread, I had sensors on my brakes but not sure where it would display if at all...

Omega General Help / Re: Split pipe
« on: 19 September 2007, 12:56:12 »
I ended up cutting the pipe and reattaching, but a couple of weeks later has split again... I have cleaned the breathers in between this happening, I couldn't get the other end of this pipe off so left it  :-[ I may have to cut it off the other end and get a new one - would this be the best thing to do?

Thanks for the replies, I'm not sure if there's enough left to cut the end off, the split is around an inch long. Although if I route it slightly differently I may be able to do that. I have to get a few parts from the dealer anyway so I thought I'd try to get a new one but am unsure of a part number or a decent desription.

Omega General Help / Split pipe
« on: 06 August 2007, 21:17:07 »
Hi all, I was just topping up my screenwash and noticed that I had a split in one of the pipes - the one that is disconnected in this photo:

I have bodged it with some tape at the moment but what I wanted to know was, what problems may this have caused? would it have affected mpg at all? as I think mine has been bad of late.
Also, Is there a part number for this pipe or a description so I could get a replacement?
Thanks!

Ok thanks, so do some cars/discs need their pads chamfering and some don't then?  :-?

Im fairly certain the GLS still has a sensor.....except it doesnt tell you on the mid (coz there isnt one)
Theres a warning light for the pads below the clock/radio display.
To be fair to the mechanic, apparently there was one there anyway which was broken... I wonder if anyone with a TID has seen a brake warning light below it?
Also, if I were to go back and ask if the pads were chamfered, are they likely to know what I'm on about? Cos I don't!

I wouldn't have the confidence to do brakes myself - I'd hate to get something like that wrong!
