Omega General Help / Re: v6 exhaust
« on: 06 April 2013, 15:53:16 »
i fitted my exhaust from this company fitted ok only issues are the rubber hangers are a bit smaller than the standard ones and one of  the tail pipes was slightly bent down but easy fix with a pair of big pliers very good for the price and oh so quiet

did it start to use more coolant depending on what setting the heater control was set too ? mine started doing that and it turned out to be the heater bypass valve witch is located at the back of the engine . also when was the oil changed last and are you using good quality oil as if the oil is old or poor quality you will get a lot of mayo in the filler neck and on the cap i found this out through experience also the v6 suffers from mayo in the cap anyway as its the coolest part of the engine . have you tried getting someone to do a sniff test with a kit in the header tank as this will show the presence of hydrocarbons ? hope that hasn't baffled you even more

checked the wiring where it looked crushed and all was ok but the black arm that goes into the sensor was popped out but it didnt look like it had snapped off as it pushed back in to its socket but still getting the warning so would you say the sensor is shot ?

Not an uncommon occurrence .. a cable (zip) tie often works to stop them popping off again .. but not too tight to stop movement .. if that makes sense .. :)
its not the little connecting rod from the wishbone its the actual black plastic leaver arm that the rod goes onto if you look at it its the back of the sensor on the opposite side to where the plug goes into the sensor hope that makes sense ?
