90492006        SENSOR,CRANKSHAFT REVOLUTIONS        1
 90492006

These are the two part numbers you may need.

The part number for the one that I brought was 0261210131. This is the one that come with the square connector. The one I took off had the same number on though.

The connecter that the sensor connector fits to is the rounder of the two types. Are you familiar with the two different types? It has a pink or orange rubber seal around the centre plastic bit.
As for the sensor connector, I have just tried to put a bending spring around the cable and push it back up and now lost the cut end. So I think that is probably the last that I will be seeing of that. :(
It's all about learning from mistakes.

If anyone is really interested to find out if recabling can be done and has an old damaged sensor then PM me for my address and once I have finally put a new one on and proved that that was what the problem I'll happily recable the damaged one and try it if it means saving people all this. :y
I have little doubt that it will work.

I'll have to go and have another look. Did have a look about changing the cable, might be able to but to get enough slack on the sensor end to cut I ended up pulling the connector down behind the engine. I'll be back shortly. If I can the connector back out then I might have a go at replacing the cable.

Right, I've been at it this morning and still got problems. Got the new sensor and checked the connector and it looked alright. Got home, took the old one off and then found that it was the wrong one (after stupidly cutting the old cable and then losing it behind the engine).
I took it back to the shop where they had ordered me another one with the round ends. When they took it out of the box it turned out that it was the same. They then got on to Bosch who said that they were all square.
They then looked on the computer for a different type and there was a picture of a different make with the rounded ends on the connector so they went and picked it out and when they opened it, it had the square connector.
They phoned a local Vauxhall garage and they said they didn't know anything about it.
The only thing that I can think of now is to try and find the connector that I have pulled through into the engine and take it to them, or try to doctor the cable, which I can imagine will cause me more problems later.
Any ideas?

Thanks mate. Would you believe that I've just found a section of the forum called "Maintainance Guides" that tells me everything that I'll ever need to know. Will be looking for a new senser today and trying to change it.
I'll let you know how I get on. :y

Heres a pic of the cs sensor plug, its on the pas. side
Thanks, that is the plug that I was playing with, it had fallen apart to a degree and I have put it back together. Is there an easy way of making sure that it is dry?

Is this sorted now then ?
No, unfortunatly not. Can't find out where the actual crank senser. Might have to get a new one and then find it.
Really hope that is what it is. Running through a bad patch at the minute and have no money to get it sorted.

Crank sensor is always the suspect when they wont go,Unfortunately the only way I know of finding out is to swap with a known good one,not sure if any members near you who might be able to assist. :-/
Thanks mate, I'm not even sure what it looks like, I can't find it in the manual.
IS THERE ANYONE NEAR ME THAT IS LONELY?????????? I WILL BE YOUR FRIEND!!!!! JUST SAVE ME.

Thanks mate but I've just been out and had it all in bits. I can hear the fuel system running when I closed the fuel pump relay circuit and I swaped the two relays between the pump circuit and the injection circuit.
Taken the skuttle out and had a poke around behind but still no joy. Doing my head in now.
Which leads me to--- Does the immobiliser cut out the ignition completely or does the starter still work?

Has anybody at all got any other ideas? (That do not involve Torx sockets)
Running out of time and really nood to get running by the time I go to bed.
Thanks for all the help so far. :y :'( :o :-[ [smiley=dankk2.gif]

Bloke has just been around from the breakdown cover I have. He took off the fuel lines from the engine and got me to turn the engine over, then said that it was the fuel pump. Just then a noise started coming from the engine bay next to where the battery is. He said it was the cooling system, I said it sounds like a faulty relay. We had a look through the manual and couldn't work out which relays were which. Then I said could the problem be that the crank senser is what tells the pump to start pumping........
He says, to be honest mate, I'm not really a mechanic so I couldn't tell you.
That's where we got to >:(
Any ideas? If it is a relay that controlls the fuel pump does anyone know which one it might be?

Wasn't surewhich was the crank senser, but I pulled about some wiring under the skuttle. There was one connector that has fallen apart a little bit. Looks like a three pole connector and one end has what looks liike a vacuum hose. But nothing has changed, not sure if I was looking in the right place. :(

Omega General Help / My Car Will Not Start DESPARATELY NEED HELP
« on: 06 September 2009, 12:02:10 »
Hi All,
Got in the car this morning and it wouldn't start. It was turning over perfectly but would not fire, not even a splutter. I need the car to be working for tomorrow and have not got a clue what is wrong.
Seemed a bit funny yesterday, had to have a couple of attempts at starting a couple of times.
Is ther a safety fuel cut off switch anywhere, or could it be a relay problem preventing power getting to the ignition?
Would really appreciate any help that I can get.
Thanks, Kieren
