If 98 on then you need to replace the unit. It can be refurbed. If exchanging for a second hand one it must be exactly the same as the one that you've taken off, e.g if your car is a 2.5 manual saloon then you need the unit from another 2.5 manual saloon of the same vintage, otherwise you will need a tech 2 session.

By the last 2 do you mean the bottom 2?

Takes perseverance mate - when I did the Estate never thought about removing abs block - can need use of Tech2 to bleed when refitted!!  All I removed was top hose, nothing else!

[edit]If its yours on ebay mate you need to get a move on!! ;)[/edit]

And finished. Still can't see how you did it but If I remember correctly, you're the guy who did his HBV without removing the scuttle.

Would have thought that if the serial numbers matched up it would be fine, i.e. if a 2.5 was the same as the 3.0. So I can probably expect that replacing my mates with a working donor one but with the same serial numbers the ABS and TC lights will remain on until a tech2 session?

No, sadly not. You do need to match the seriel numbers but each abs unit is set up differently So you need a tech 2 session. I was fortunate enough to find someone with exactly the same spec car as mine (2.5 manual estate) but the numbers still must match. I'm sure the experts on here will correct mebut I believe there were up to 16 different types of abs ecu!

BTW, I finally got mine off! My wife had a go,my mate had a go, even my kids had a go and we are of the opinion dbug that your hands and arms must be the size of pipe cleaners! lol  ;D

Just borrowed another magic tool for tomorrow. I have replacement ABS unit ready to go on,already programmed for a 2.5 v6 estate so its just a plain switch over. Don't know how you did it with just the top hose off, I have had to remove the power steering pipe, battery, ecu loom, relays, plastic holder for the loom connectors etc. I know I have sausages for fingers but there is absolutely no way you could do it with just the top hose off.

I am part way through doing mine. I have followed the guide on here but I cannot get the last two screws undone.I just can't reach them, even with the magic tool. Any ideas? Has anyone ever removed the distribution block. (I know that's what Vauxhall do when they do these)

Have you got the codes from it? Could be a number of things. I'm not au fait with the 2.2 but my first thought would be to check the DIS module. Sound like your not running a full complement.

Anything's feasable but the Miggy V6 has similar power output. If you're going to do it then keep it GM and go small block Chevy.

If that's the case, either keep it so you can return the car to stock or sell it, get a decent 3.0l lump and get everything done like ported heads, polished plenums etc.

Is it worth just transplanting the whole lump?

Get your water pump done at the same time and replace the auxilliary belt bearing too (Bitter voice of experience there!)

How much does a servotronic relay cost out of interest. (Might just be worth doing)

It's your enginem management light. Search on the how to section for paperclip codes to find out what your fault is.
