Right i have removed the plastic block of the new stalk, this was achieved by pressing the 2 small yellow tabs with a small screwdriver

which will allow the small sockets on each wire to slide out, once they have been freed

To release the sockets from the plastic holder follow NickA's  advice  highlighted by Welung666 and insert a pin of some sort down the hole towards the center of the plastic connector, this releases the tab locking the socket into the connector allowing you to push them out of the connector using a small screwdriver

If it ever stops raining i will remove the existing stalk and continue the process

I don't think i have rain sensors, what do they look like?
I assume i either don't have them  or they don't work as when on intermittant the speed does not change do matter how heavy the rainfall

Is it possible to retro-fit a pre-facelift(PFL) stalk with adjustable intermittent in-to a facelift(FL)?
Physically the only difference i can see is that the fly lead for the PFL has a 6-pin connector with 5 wired while the FL one has a 4-pin connector with 3 wired

Is this an indication that the bulb is on its way out
Yes

In 6 years of Omega ownership (so far) every bulb failure has been preceded by an apparent false alarm.

If you check all your bulbs you will almost certainly find one that is blackened and about to fail properly.

If you give it a week it will save you the bother and it will be obvious which one needs changing  :y

Fairy 'nough - what are the recommended replacements - I vaguely remember reading posts about nightstalkers?[/quote]
nightbreakers :y
Told you I was vague ;D

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Headlight failure
« on: 20 November 2009, 19:46:14 »
Hi Guys
A few nights ago  the left main beam did not come on and the display showed "headlight tail lamp" or "headlight tail lamp" can't remember which one  :-[
so i assumed that the bulb had gone, however when i got back in the car about a hour later , the light was working fine and the warning message had gone !
Is this an indication that the bulb is on its way out or is it a sign of a more expensive failure ?

The volume doesn't actually display when i move the multifunction wheel or press the buttons on the steering wheel. Should it?

I had the same head in my '99 CDX and there was no volume level indication on the display, just louder music

or you could just tell people the number for your Carphone! - always thought it added a touch of coolness having a carphone in addition to a mobile 8-)
