General Discussion Area / Re: First time you drove a car
« on: 24 September 2008, 16:38:50 »
I was 12 at the time, I used to go with my mate and his dad to stock car racing, his dad always had a Zephyr 6, but raced various cars. I can remember at this particular time he was racing a Ford Anglia, (I can even remember it been a $hitty green colour). Now this would'nt happen by todays standards, but at that time, it was more or less.......well who's to know. His dad raced the Anglia, then so did my mate, there was still some life left in it after being battered round the track by old Rover P5's and the likes. My mate talked his dad into letting me drive in the next race, I say race, it was more like a one for all round an oval mud track. I'd never driven before, never mind raced, but got the bottle from somewhere to get in next , so to speak.

I did'nt need clutch control or anything, I constantly got rammed and shoooooved round that track for the whole race, can't remember how many laps. It was fun, but also scary, but atleast I did'nt get rolled  :o

This sort of thing when I was 12, is unheard of today, and no doubt very illegal  ;D, those were the days.

For the young one's of today........... this is a Ford Anglia

Pushed around the track by the Rover P5

I've just been to Morry's, put air in first, X4 =20p, dont mind paying for it as you can set your psi and it puts in the right amount, then got me fuel. But as already said, when forecourt is'nt busy, I'll fuel up first, and they'll give you a free code for the airline.

Guy had a fizzy too  8-)  I had a yellow one, put ace bars on it and laid on the tank, those were the days.  ;D

But if you use a Sainsbury's filling station it is FREE!! 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

It would cost me more than 20p to drive to Sainsbury's for free air. I dont mind paying 20p at Morry's once a blue moon, besides, their doing that collect points with yer fuel thingy and get a £5 voucher  ::).

Yeh Guy, see you saturday, DONT FORGET THE RICE.  ;D

General Discussion Area / Assistant Wanted
« on: 22 September 2008, 08:04:33 »
A young man goes into the Job Centre in Middlesboro, and see's a card advertising for a Gynaecologist’s Assistant.
Interested he goes to learn more -
'Can you give me some more details about this?' he asks the guy behind the desk.
The Job Centre man sorts through his files & replies - 'Oh yes here it is:
The job entails you getting the lady patients ready for the gynaecologist.
You have to help them out of their underwear, lie them down and carefully wash their genital regions. You then apply shaving foam and gently shave off all their pubic hair, then rub in soothing oils so that they're ready for the gynaecologist’s examination.
There's an annual salary of £45,000, but you're going to have to go to Sheffield.
That's about 160 miles from here.' 'Oh why, is thats where the job's at ?'
'No sir - that's where the end of the queue is for this job application!'

Just looked at that site  ::) they seem to care about the climate and taking the heat off the planet, but dont seem to care how to promote it......... 1 adult and 3 kids on a bike  :exclamation very wise. What about - pedestrians, cyclists, and other people who do not drive cars free days ? 365 of em ! that would be better.

After the birth of her sixth child, Jane decided that she should have some cosmetic surgery 'down below' to restore herself to her former youthful glory, because her bomb doors were dangling a bit too low and looked like a ripped out fireplace.

Time and children had taken its toll and she reckoned that, with six children now being the limit, she'd tidy things up, with a nip here and a tuck there so it looked more like a piggy bank slot rather than a badly packed kebab.

Following the operation she awoke from her anaesthetic to find three roses at the end of the bed.

Who are these from?' she asked the nurse, 'They're very nice but I'm a bit confused as to why I've received them.'

'Well' said the nurse, 'the first is from the surgeon – the operation went so well and you were such a model patient that he wanted to say thanks.'

'Ahhh, that's really nice' said Jane.

'The second is from your husband - he's delighted the operation was such a success that he can't wait to get you home.
Apparently it'll be the first time he's touched the sides for years and he's very excited!'

'Brilliant!' said Jane. 'And the third?'

'That's from Eric, a patient in the burns unit,' said the nurse.
'He just wanted to say thanks for his new ears.'

General Discussion Area / Tyres
« on: 12 September 2008, 20:12:09 »
Hello peeps  :y just a quick one. At the moment I have 225/55/16 on my 16" rims, would 225/50/16 make much difference ?

The reason I ask is because..... I'm going to need x4 new over the next few weeks, and I have the chance of x4 new Michelin Pilot primacy tyres for £100, so is there much difference between the aspect ratio/profile of 55 and 50 ?

Cheers  :y
