Cheers Entwood,
That sounds nice and easy....... but do you mean that I should spray it round the air intake? And are there any parts of the engine that it will damage........And what do I use to seal the leak?
Hope I don't sound too thick but want to be on the safe side.
Thanks mate,
K

Spray it lightly around each component/connection .. it won't do any harm at all. Once you know where the leak is, you know which bits to take off to check... seals for splits or not seating properly, pipes for splits. No point in taking the whole plenum off if it just a split vac pipe at the back !!!  Leaks should be fixed by replacing witha serviceable parts .. NOT by use of gash sealants/glues .. IMHO

:)
Thanks, I'll have a go soon asap.
I'll let you know how I get on. :y

You're going a bit fast for me. Tickover sits around 400 rpm according to the rev counter.
The Boy put his Tech2 on the car at Ashridge and said that I might have an air leak somewhere around the bit that sits on top of the enging.
Don't know a huge amount about these engines to be honest, it's all a bit complicated and I have limited knowlege.
Thanks for the comments though. Should I take the air intake apart and if I do what should I be looking for?
Cheers, Kieren

Omega General Help / Looks nice but it has flatulence

Little problem with my car, it's just sounding a little bit farty when I take my foot off the pedal and when I brake. Sort of uneven popping noise. You probably know what I mean.
I have to drive up to Scotland next weekend and am a little bit worried.
Any ideas? Someone mentioned that it may be an exhaust blow but it is a SS system so shouldn't be.
Grateful for any suggestions.
Cheers, Kieren
How interesting that the forum reworded my thread title  :-X

Omega General Help / Speedo pointer cap thingy
« on: 31 May 2009, 18:05:03 »
Can anyone please tell me how you get the clear cover off the front of the instrument display?
The cap has come off the speedo arm and is floating around behind the cover.
Thanks very much in advance for any help.

Hi All,
Just got my Omega on Friday. Been after one for about four years but circumstances prevented. It's an MV6, a few mods and absoloutly fantasitc.
If anyone knows how to get the phone working that would be great. Tried Orange and 3 sim cards but keeps saying "No NETWORK"
Appreciate the help in advance and looking forward to using this site and getting to know some of you.

Just need them to get me by for a bit while I save for the new ones. £225 a piece from vauxhall and work has been slow recently. Car is not usable at the minute and haven't got the money for the new ones so I just need a pair to get me mobile so I can give my missus hers back.

Hi TB,
Are the front wishbones in reasonable condition? And will they fit pre-facelift MV6?
If it means that you can't move the car without them fitted you can replace them with the ones that I have on at the minute.
Let me know and I can pop over to Brackley to collect them.
Cheers mate.

I had my omega on Islay in August and don't think I got one picture. Nice pic with Port Ellen behind the car. I've staggered along that road a fair few times.
