General Discussion Area / Re: Smart electric meters
« on: 03 August 2017, 21:55:33 »
I had a smart meter fitted at my business premises a few years ago since then I have changed my electricity supplier a couple of times when I have told my new power suppliers that I have a smart meter they have told me that they are unable to read it as the SIM is locked to British Gas WTF  >:(

All suppliers are incompatible with each other which should be sorted out with a universal standard smart meter circa 2020ish, so they can all then be replaced with new compatible ones, maybe. :o :o :o

The government is happy with all of this as consumers are paying for them through their bills. :( :( :( Correct >:( >:( >:( >:(

Omega General Help / Re: Kwik-Fit lifetime brake guarantee.
« on: 16 June 2017, 18:57:24 »
Has anyone had experience of this guarantee?
My brakes were OK at MOT time, but probably need new pads by now and as they were replaced ages ago (I don't do many miles nowadays, after retiring!) I'm hoping that they will still honour the guarantee - or will I be better off going to the OOF hero, Serek?

Ron.
a few years ago I recall kwik fit doing the same deal . they only guarantee the car as long as you own the vehicle. I was in a waiting room when a young lady was about to sign up for the offer. kwik fits price for fitting front pads exceeded £240 , it was a pug 206. at the time a set of front pads was probably a tenner .FFS :o :o :o

Just read the spec on that toilet pretty impressive especially the "lady wash function ::)" as the place that sells these is only half a mile from me I may just pop over there and buy one.  ;)

Can you try before you buy.  :D

I can always ask!  :) ;D

Omega General Help / Re: who the devil sells distilled water ?

If you require distilled water and have a fridge or freezer that requires defrosting just use the melted ice but remember to remove the odd frozen pea, piece of sweetcorn or freezer burnt prawn before you use it  :y

Omega General Help / Re: Car entry problem
« on: 09 April 2017, 14:27:26 »
Silly question, even though the door pin may not have lifted, have your tried the handle?

The key should unlock the door  :-\

Yep I have tried the handle. The key seems to travel all the way but does not unlock the car. I have never had the problem that seems quite common i.e the barrel seizing up  :-\

Omega General Help / Car entry problem
« on: 09 April 2017, 12:00:13 »
Hi all as title I can't get into the car as the battery is flat and although the key turns freely in the lock it is not unlocking. Is there any way to energise the car electrics using an external battery?

TIA

I'm soooooo glad I started this thread. My missus hasn't laughed so much for ages. The girl, the goldfish and the dwarf cracked her up and, when Tony said he didn't realise it was in colour cause they only had a b&tw se, it finished her off  ;D

With the age of the programme and the fact it was produced in eastern Europe I naturally assumed it would be in black and white  :( Keep this thread going it's great :y
