Does your speedo work or not ? If yes try cleaning the front wheels as you may have some brake dust building up on the front wheel speed sensor.(jet wash is perfect for this task)

Omega General Help / Re: Heater Matrix questions
« on: 26 February 2010, 17:36:36 »
Hi ya, what you discribe sounds like what my car did last summer and I did cut the inlet & outlet from the matrix and bridge with some copper tube without any problems, infact I left it in that state for 5 months
The matrix I bought is a genuine Valeo that cost me £60.00 from my local factor,VX wanted an arm & leg for it.
As for replacing the matrix its a pain in the neck/back and knee's but not difficult.

Code 74 is the maf sensor and when it plays up the engine over fuels.
Disconnect the maf sensor and spray some contact cleaner onto the terminals.
Allow to dry and then reconnect the connector.

Increase your tyre pressure's to 40 psi and see if the noise goes away.
If it doesnt it's not tyres !

Also check check your front tyres for uneven wear patterns

My matrix has also blown, the hot water went all over my leg.
I have by-passed the matrix by choping the hose's and fitting a U shaped piece of copper tube.
There have been a couple of guys that have cut the lower part of facia and done the replacement that way.
Im sure someone will point you in the right direction

Bleed the clutch system again as it sound like there was air trapped.

Looks like you have some traped wires.
Check your knock sensor wires !

Not sure if this will help in this case.
But in manufacturing when we need to fix rubber to metal we use dilute screen wash as a lubricant as its bio degradeable and wont affect the rubber long term.

Yes it will have an impact on the fuel ecconomy, but dont disconnect it as you may need the fan in traffic.

Try to drain off any oil in the spark plug wells and clean the HT leads dont forget to clean the contact surface of the plugs as well.
This may give you some time but the prognoses is your HT leads are breaking down due to oil ingress.
