Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / Re: WTD - Front lock solenoid
« on: 06 January 2013, 22:03:08 »
I think you'll find that the front door C/L motors are the same...
You are right Mate, I've removed the passenger side front solenoid today and it is the same partnumber as the one I sold from the drivers side front...

... seems the difference is in front to rear.

I have one from the passenger side door.
Which side do you need? I think they are different...

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Aerial Coax
« on: 03 January 2013, 23:30:05 »
On an Omega, as far as I know, the aerial signal amp is on the rear parcel shelf.

The section of loom from the headunit to the kickpanel area you mention is replaceable.

The fly lead you have linked to wouldn't work on a standard Vx. setup...

I have changed the fuses...

Which ones?

WOW! not that much Birkhead, but enough to replace cut wires in block and solder to existing loom...

Do you need a bonnet switch too?

Omega General Help / Re: MV6 ignition
« on: 30 December 2012, 13:56:00 »
Does the barrel actually provide the detents between switch positions? or is it the switch itself :-\

I would have the cowl off and have squint at the switch before condemning the lock barrel.
It's just the switch that provides the 'I', 'II', and 'START' positions.
No need to worry about immobilizer chips or new keys, just reattach/replace the black switch at the end of the ignition barrel...

Also worth checking the plugs on the main engine e.c.u. in the relay box under the bonnet...

Omega General Help / Re: Flashing spanner light . . help please
« on: 30 December 2012, 13:42:27 »
Have now got a constant flashing spanner light when turning on ignition.
Is this pointing towards the imobiliser / key ?
Cant get codes out as spanner light is constantly flashing  :-\ :-\
Or any other suggestions please . :-\

The flashing light does usually mean that the immobilizer can't find the transponder chip, try adjusting the steering wheel up and down to see if that helps (maybe a loose connection on the pickup around the ignition barrel).

Do you have a spare key you could try?

Brought the MV6 wheels from Rich (Brikhead) and one was damaged on the inner lip (Buckled and cracked) obviously the off-roading Rich was doing didnt do his Omega much good but anyways...

Not that obvious to me, perhaps you can explain further exactly when I damaged the wheel, so as I can avoid damaging any more...
lol.
