I remember The Sweeney using the MkI Consul but didn't pay any attention to badging was it the 3000GT model they used?

Yes, I believe so.  :y  The 3000GT Consul was eventually replaced by a Granada 3.0S before the later MK2. I really do need to get out more.  ::)  ;D
It was all the reading you did when in hospital for ages.  Stick to that excuse, saddo ;D

HBV is quite new so not suspecting that either.

I wouldn't completely dismiss the HBV, as my original on my 3.2 lasted around 80K miles but it's replacement lasted less than 5K miles. The replacement was purchased from a main dealer and the box had the hologram on it. The second replacement was still OK when I sold it. Worth checking using the max high temp, max low temp method.  :y

Jack Regan slithered a 3 litre MK1 around the city streets when chasing 'wrong uns'.....so it can't be a bad car. >:D
I thought he was always 'driven', not 'driving'.

Yep, Bill was his regular driver.  :y  Oh, and it was originally a Consul (same as MK1 3.0 Granada), until the MK11 came along.  :)

90 minutes in total diagnostic time. 15 euros, seemed very little so gave him 20.

Problem is an internal fault with the MIB itself. A search of the internet throws up plenty of UK companies that repair your MIB . 2/3 day turnaround. There will be similar here but finding one will be a challenge as will be the logistics. Might be easier to turn up in person and stay in a hotel nearby.

When in the UK you could book a few days away in Paignton and pop in to see Dave Watts (Dave DND Services) who used to frequent the forum.
In all seriousness I appreciate that’s not a viable option, but good luck getting it sorted.  :y

Weren't the 2.5 and 3.0 of certain year prone to failure of the back of the 246 gasket :-\

My 98 MY certainly was. The rear corner of the 246 bank gasket rotted outwards, causing a slight coolant leak on cool down. As previously mentioned, the fire rings were fine. The heat from the engine evaporated the coolant leak, making it difficult to find initially. It left a slight water mark just under the cylinder head rear corner.  :y

Potholes again. More to the point, recently filled in pothole repairs that lasted less than a month.  ::)  I can only assume that the highways people have lost the skills to sort them or the product they are using is shite.  :-\

Oh, and HS2 for flooding the road again. Not worth taking our cars for a wash as they’d be filthy again by the time I got home.

………….
Dirty Harry would have caught them and then strung the little bastards up by their happy sacks.. ::)......but I imagine modern coppers spent their time learning pronouns while listing all 173 genders during a 'diversity and inclusion' course.

If you’re IN trouble, phone a friend.
If you WANT trouble, phone the police.  ::)

I usually go with one of the better known companies, probably because I think they're more likely to be easier to claim from should I need to. But I've just been looking at quotes from Go Skippy and other ones I've never heard of. Less than half the price, about time I stopped being loyal to the big boys.

Same here, I prefer to stick with known companies, Why though I’ll never know, as there’s no benefit to loyalty.  ::)
My wife’s renewal has just come through and it has jumped up by around £150. I went on compare the market, filled out the relevant information and the same company **(Churchill)** was in the list at around last years renewal price so I phoned them up this morning and they price matched.  :y  Can’t grumble about that can I.

**
You have to be careful as some companies also list ‘Essentials’, which is lower cover than the standard policy.

Have they only just realised this ? Talk about having your head buried in the sand, at least Lee Anderson had the balls to speak the truth, apparently he has no intention of apologising good for him.

Just shows how out of touch our government is when they give Lee Anderson the push to save face, even though millions of British people agree with him.  ::)

Just like cyclists who wear cameras. Shouting and swearing over nothing. …….

You should enjoy this one then, although the ending isn’t fatal sadly.  >:(
It’s none other than the holier than thou, egotistical, antagonistic tw_t Jeremy Whine. Note to van driver ….. try harder next time.  :y

Interesting read here, Jim:

https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/electriccars/article-13113365/Half-EV-drivers-petrol-diesel-car-want-longer-journeys.html

The point that most owners with an EV also have an ICE vehicle is certainly true around here.  :y  One couple have a Tesla and a Mercedes AMG C63 V8, so I’m guessing the C63 carbon footprint is slightly offset by also owning a Tesla.  ;D

The Boots in our little town has closed down. It has been there forever.
…………..
More decline...  :-X

Yep, same here, the Boots next to the GP Surgery in our town is closing down next month.  >:(  It’s well placed for people who’ve been to see the doctor as they can pick up their prescription from the Boots premises next door.
They've been losing money in the smaller stores, and they are not a charity. American owned IIRC

Yep, appreciate that.  :y  The High Streets are dying on their arses and inadvertently we are all to blame with online shopping being so easy.

Incidentally, our High Street is full of coffee shops and Estate Agents.  :)

My nights are 15 hours though.  :)

I did shift work all of my working life and legally we had to have a clear 11 hours rest time between shifts, so a maximum shift of 13 hours.  :y
On some jobs you can sign away that right, but we were bound by the rules.  :y
