try holding the can with strap wrench or similar then use a longer bar or extending rachet. remember when replacing only needs to be 15nm. hope this helps.

also check for broken rear spring. Snapped coils sit in centre of spring and com bounce around.

Just as an aside got a stater from steve near heathrow. what a great guy he was going away for weekend and said he would leave starter and trust that i would put payment in letterbox. Not many people like him anymore.

sounds like caliper is loose on mounting or pads are wrong and moving in the caliper. are you sure you got correct part.

Not sure if leads are getting warm another thing to check thanks. not sure if it is starter as it turns over quicker now with charged battery. wouldnt do a thing with starter pack though but i suspect that was because starter has stuck. Long time since i encountered that last time was with my ford 123e anglia !!

yes it is same car with slow starter but now Im not sure whether lies with battery starter or charge rate. Roll on the weekend and hope swmbo doesnt breakdown again in the meantime.

hi all car would not start yesterday all symtons of flat battery. Tried to jump start nothing. Battery completely dead. Towed home. As i was tryint to start car throttle switch clicked should it?. is there a starter relay somewhere? if so what colour? Battery on charge now. any ideas please. Will it crank if immobilser is shot. sorry for so many questions at once.

batteries in a low state of charge can give all sorts of problems.I know as im finding out now. Also batteries can give up really quicky would suugest gettingg charge rate tested and also battery. Dont use Kwik Fit though!

found that battery was very low in charge. have recharged battery and all seems ok for now but need to check charge rate etc. this will have to wait for weekend though. Thanks for replies.
