Well! if anybody has read my inputs from years ago, they will recognize my thoughts on the BBC. The first letter does not mean British in my eyes anymore and has not been for many many years. Caca de Toro? it's not that either! but the BBC is full of that as well. IF we all carry on saying nothing then the inevitable will happen. No need to draw a picture! ITV adverts are a good guide to what will happen and I do not mean the crap they are trying to sell us!! Or is it??? BBC rant over!!  :( :(

General Car Chat / Re: So what have you done to your car today?
« on: 22 February 2022, 10:11:07 »
The old girl went for an MOT today and it looks like the news is not good.  :( Garage rung me late this afternoon and tin worm has taken over! I have not been to see the rot yet but have been seriously thinking about what to do about it!  I was going to sell/get rid of this year, but medical issues caught up with me late last year. I need a car to go to Raigmore hospital Inverness on a regular basis. The quandry is, do I get some welding done and keep her going? I am of an age that driving will get more difficult but need the old grl. I cannot be arsed looking for another car at this stage in my life. I do know a welder that does that sort of thing, so I might go down that road first to see what he says. What do you fellow OOF'ers think?  :-\ :-\

Update to the welding saga and even worse news.
The old girl has had it. The welder said that it would be uneconomical to fix it.
So looking for another car that is a bit higher as my Rheumatoid Arthritis is not going away.
I don't know what I am going to do with it. I would rather see that spares are used from it rather than crushing.  :'( :'(

Keep you posted.  :y

I have been mulling over this and I have decided to get rid!
I was thinking that I should offer it to an OOF'er for FREE if they can take it away.
Any takers??

Cheers  :y :y

Hiya!

Update on welding saga!

TB, I am the wrong side of 74 this year ffs!
Can I just say to you that this forum has some very informative members including yourself and I really do appreciate it as it has helped me over the years. I am sure that most members on here would agree. Well done sir!!

Thanks to all members inputs to my problem and hopefully I will find out on Monday as the the magic electricery man with a sparky lance is having a look! I can weld but the arthritis has taken over I am afraid.

Will update next week.

Cheers!  :y

On a serious point...

Unfortunately, from a social perspective, ignoring these people is incredibly dangerous. Not only does it give them a free and unopposed reign, it also gives them the moral high ground because we don't apparently care enough to argue with them.

Damned if we do, and damned if we don't.

I agree with that DG. Wholeheartedly.

It looks like LZ is on the outer perimeter of this discussion!

This is a (so called) democracy, so why should have we to appease to the minority? This is really getting out of hand.

As Rangie quotes he knows better than some of us on here!

Our country & a lot of its inhabitants are just too soft & can't see the problem with scum getting away scot free when  a crime has been committed , it's a very slippery slope unfortunately we appear to be too far down it now to claw our way back up it, a very sad state of affairs when some try to justify blatant vandalism.
