Omega General Help / autobox issue
« on: 13 September 2007, 19:53:06 »
Anyone with an Ar25 box find 2nd to 3rd gear change when crawling in slow traffic a pain where ; if it changes up to 3rd at the same as lifting off the throttle  as it were I get this DOOF sound (only way I can describe it) almost as if it gets confused whether it should be changing up or down (ECU has been upgraded to v.10) may well be normal but God is it annoying!!

You could try resetting the servos, by pressing AUTO & OFF buttons Simultaneously for Approx' 5 Secs and see if this sorts it.

Try changing the Fuel filter, this has worked wonders with some cars.

They are chargeable batteries, but trying to get hold of them is a nightmare and there was only one company that I think someone came across but unfortuneatly they've stopped doing them!! cost new for power sounder from Vx is around £50 mark and is probably a better bet and when I changed mine I ripped the old one apart and it had Ni-Cad Batts fitted and the new ones have Ni-mh so less chance of the memory effect  compared to the Ni-cad ones.

Just as a place to start, you could try taking off the connector to the MAF sensor and giving it a clean out on both the connector and the MAF mating connector and see what happens.

Heard  this metioned a few times , that Air-con results in higher Temps, i don't find this the case with my 2.2, if anything it keeps the temp' at a steady 85 degrees even in heavy traffic as I found today on that damn M4, so is it only the larger engine sizes that suffer from this then?

Part No. is 9181011 and are just over £30 quid , once you've fitted it just pop down to your local Vx dealer and ask for the workshop manager and tell him you've just fitted cruise control stalk but it's not working and chances are he'll hook up to Tech2 for you and enable it (look surprised!!) and then slip him a few quid for his trouble , anyway that's exactly what I did, so for under £50 i got cruise control as hopefully you will too.

Martin, from your photo it looks like they are the vertical wishbone bushes, have you checked the Horizontal ones at the front?

Omega General Help / Re: Climate control panel on facelift

Good point mate, I bet it's in a real state. First thing that was bad on mine was the light switch, but removed it and with a bit of effort managed to rub off that soft touch nonesense and now looks a nice shiny black , thinking of doing the same with the door grabs as they really look bad.

I Should say! enquired at VX dealer about that panel last year as my ECO button is worn away and quoted me £500 would you believe!! the quality of the interior on these facelifts I have to say is really piss poor probably the worst I've had and I thought my last car a Renault laguna was bad!!
