How old are your plugs and leads?
Might be worth cleaning the idle control valve.

Bizarely I like the rear but loath the front.
No mention that the gearbox has been changed to one from a 3.0 to handle all that extra power. (2.0 and 2.5 share same box)

Ooops....

Did anyone spot my chav side there for a moment?

TD autos aren't economical, in fact they are awful.

Dear Lord.  They must be bad for a phrase like that to be used on this forum  :o

I thought oil in water was a V6 oil cooler problem, and you haven't got an oil cooler

This means possibly removing the exhaust heat shields, worth spraying the retaining nuts with plus gas or similar a day before you are ready to shear the things off  ;D

Patchway Autoparts do a Bosch set for around £50, have worked well for me.
Probably the same as the e-bay ones.  Good to hear no problems.

Omega General Help / Re: Is my DIS donald?
« on: 26 January 2008, 14:59:46 »
Could be.  Can't remember if pre and mini facelifts had the spongy sound proofing stuff fitted under the scuttle.

I unstuck the two spindle seals from the spindles and used silicone sealant to adhear them to the scuttle.

Omega General Help / Is my DIS donald?
« on: 26 January 2008, 14:13:51 »
Problem started a week ago when out in the rain and she started to miss fire.  Not really used it this week, however yesterday I had time to do some investigating.  Small amount of oil in No.1 plug well so need to do breathers and probably cam gaskets, 3 &5 all OK.

No.2 plug well was full of water but 4 & 6 dry.
Dried everything out.  Plugs look like they have been in there some time so will need replacing.
Anyway, running a bit better but still coughing under low rpm load, OK on light throttle and over 3500 RPM

Now i have a vague recollection that the only way to try a DIS out was to disconnect the knock sensors and see if it makes a difference although this is potentially fatal to a dodgy DIS pack.  Is this correct?

I think the water come down the wiper spindles, over the incorrectly positioned seals and soaked the sound proofing on the underside of the scuttle, and then dripped onto the left bank and all ran to the front when i stopped on quite a steep hill.  Not a great theory I know, but the only one I have at present.
