looking at the door handle mech on my spare door here at home....
turning the key in lock operates 1 rod plus 2 micro-switches

Seanus senna , what is the issue ? no key ? key won't turn?
tried the spare key ? tried the key the other way up ?
tried squirting WD40 via straw into the lock barrel ?

if deadlocked  the cam on the door barrel will force the rod down stopping remote triggering i assume  :-\
i.e ,not allow you to remote trigger the door solenoid via remote control or hacking into the driver door loom at the kick panel

my omega is not here for me to check (on in-laws drive )

 Yes Sorry Ron  ;)

! Having re read the first post ....
the "garage" can't get the door open from inside either
there is screws holding the door card in the door shut sides plus 2 obscured by the dash    ,not accessible with the door shut
if you remove the plastic trim panel  top right ,inside the pull out cubby there's a secret screw
remove the tweeter grill , there's a screw  behind there
and the base of the card has about 4 screws

the photos in this ended ebay listing may be helpful

I wasn't saying that you offended me, Dave, merely that your post followed mine in much the same terms - hence the "echo"!  ;D

Ron.
Sorry Ron , where at cross purposes ,my dry sense of humor  :y

any animosity in  " i say it as i see it , and if i offend someone (who don't deserve it) i'll say sorry  :o"
was firmly directed at the "Garage" in the first post  ;)

Dam , that's twice I've has to use the "S word" in one post  :P

if the rest of the doors open ? you could remove the door card (may damage it ) but cutting the door pillar and the door is a big NO NO
sounds deadlocked
sounds like the "local garage" are ******* :-X
do they stable their horses at the back of their "garage"?

welcome along by the way  :y

give as much info as possible ,in order for people to help  ;)

I've a dented spare driver door here (just swapped for un-dented version)
I will strip it out in the next few weeks and see what sensors /goodies are inside soon and report back
(unlesss blinded by airbag dust ,unable to see computer screen  ::))

Yes agree, current Fiesta is a far better car than current Corsa.
But FESTA is made by ford  ::)

On older models I do enjoy our 1.2 51 Corsa SXi bought for £150 requiring rear springs, TRE and headlamp, it's a hoot to drive. It's great for the oldest (taller than me so plenty of headroom) to learn to drive in and generally easy to do bits and pieces on.
Biggest problem with the Corsa C is leaks into cabin, main culprit requires the brake master cylinder etc removing to seal the bulkhead plate sufficiently.
The cars start at scrap money as long as you can sort a few bits out yourself, just don't buy one with an EPS fault as repairing that is awkward and replacing the column is expensive.

On the 1.2 I think all the gears are the same lol, it's great around town but not really up to faster roads!
agreed the leak to footwell (via servo plate)is factory fitted but simple to sort .
the early corsa c is x12xe and only about 60 bhp ,
I was truly shocked how nippy the newer (2003+ z12xep) 79bhp item was  :o

EPS fault can sometimes be just adjusting the sensor under the steering column

Trouble is , corsa's are small , cheap to insure ,learner/little old lady cars that have been driven badly, not maintained ,ragged by boy racers, (unless you find the brass rivet ,rare ,well cared for item)
i've just spent more on parts than we paid for the corsa in the first place
(but it is SORTED, for a new pass, family member)
astra g 8v are great (we've 4 in the fleet)  :y

I've just completely rebuilt a corsa 2005 1.2 lump
2000 to 2003 is x12xe chain driven ,(water pump is aux belt driven)
2003 on is z12xep twinport ,chain driven ,(water pump is aux belt driven)

tf the chain is too loose , it will rip chunks off the chain cover ,
(nice chunks of ali pumping round the lump ,)
hydraulic lifters collapse or stick (top end tick),cams can snap,
there are water ways going through the timing chain cover (which can leak into the timing chain ,(giving the impression the h/gasket has gone)
when re-fitting the timing chain cover(new gasket a must) ,you must have the sump off ,or you put strain on the oil pump .

there is a presure relief valve in the oil filter housing (front of engine) can stick.

the 1229cc 79bhp (z12xep) and 1364cc 89bhp (z14xep) share the same block ,cylinder head, headgasket ,only difference is crankshaft /longer stroke.
(so a 1.2 head will fit 1.4 and vice versa )
both have a very thin mls head gasket, so block deck and head must be  bang on true
parts are cheap

I know nothing of the cdti dirty diesel item  :-[

Glad you got it sorted  :)

Dave, you are a genius. I will never malign builders again ;)

I'm no Genius , just spent many an hour on kitchen floors ,fixing appliances for people  ;)
I hate all the waste in this throw away society
As for "builders" there's good and bad, so, just stick to slating the bad ones  :D

Oh well at least it's had a service with all new bearings, should be good for a few years yet then.

hold the odd sock for ransom ,till "Louise's friend" coughs up for parts and weekend call-out costs  :y

Did you check the fan impeller ?
common to get stuff sucked in
(the wire from bras is common or that one sock that went missing )

Hm.. you made me go and check it with no belt on the motor - when the motor spins up it looks like it wants to climb out of the drier! Vibrating like a whacker plate.

Something stuck, or shot motor, I wonder.. if it's motor then it's for the pikeys to pick up and I'll order a new machine..

you did not say what model number ,unless i missed it  :-\

but the motor that turns the drum also drives the fan impellers ,
so summat stuck will  make it "Vibrating like a whacker plate"
the motor shaft is quite long on some models ,could be bent .
have you been drying cylinder heads and other engine parts ?  :D

the motor "spins up" (or tries too) ,so motor is ok i'd of thought ,so  , what items of laundry are missing  ::)

How big IS the crack in the manifold ?
you could try gum gum or JBweld ,
won't last as a fix but may last long enough to prove one way or another if the crack is an issue  ;)
