Tracking is generally a waste of money on Omegas, a full geometry check is required, by somebody who knows what they are doing (ie, doesn't just set it to factory spec). Keep a very close eye on the inner shoulder wear ;)

Yep, on way back from Scotland get booked into Nigel Lang's.  My Omega is transformed having its full Geometry setup and 4 new boots  :y

Sounds fair  :):y

I stick to all rules and annoys me too when see others flouting the laws  >:(

Rest assured however that Lycra guy doesn't normally don't get too far ahead of me as I do 40 miles a day on a heavy mountain bike so I catch them up again and smile as they suddenly realise they have been caught up and can't loose me who is now firmly fixed on their back wheel   ;D

Smug  :y

Hope you get your autobox leak sorted  :y

Andy.

How mean of you, Mr. Gixer: now, if you had written "trail of blood from demolished cyclists"......
..
Ron.

Now now  >:(  -  some of us are BOTH cyclists and Omega owners  :D. I do more miles on my bike than in the car  :o

Does your A/C still work ?

I ask as mine always idles a 'little' rougher when A/C Compressor is off.  Can be felt through the Gear Stick (I have Manual Transmission :y)

With A/C on she is silky smooooooooooth  :)

OK thanks. Strangely  I had a new external moulding on the door about 8 years ago.  From look of pics of blank door looks like it pushes on and slides towards front of car about an inch to locate ?  Removal I guess is to slide to back of car and the should pull off !!

Not sure if can perhaps get new external trim now for the door  :'(

I would say get yourself to the place I had my geometry set up at  :y. But the I noticed you were a bit of a drive from Bolton in Canada  :D

Hi,

I am looking for a good rear passenger drivers side door for mini facelift omega.  Noticed rust on bottom corner which looks common problem  :'(

I see there are a few facelift doors about, hopefully same colour (Velvet green I think)

Given my internal and external trim is immaculate on the one I have :y I had a brainwave that I could get a decent facelift door and transfer all internal and external trim, locks, central locking etc.  Hopefully window tint will match ?

Would this work ?  Or are the fixing holes, clip locations etc difference on a skeleton facelift door compared to mini facelift ????

Andy.

just a quick question , how much does it normaly cost for a full geometry setup ?.just want to be sure im not being ripped off.  :y

I paid £75 and well worth it.  Also had 4 new tyres and A/C done at same time  :y

hi drandyb, have you got post code for the place, may get mine done, it feels way to unsstable and light it doesnt pull but it feels to light if you get me

Looks like others have sorted you with details for Nigel Langs  :y I would highly recommend the place.  Car is a joy and fun to drive now  ;)

Even out dragged a BMW 320D from lights to his surprise with my 4 new boots  ;D and still averaged 36mpg on way back from Bolton.  Must be the engine timing and cam belt   ;)

May need rear brake flexies doing later in year.  Not sure when brake fluid changed.  Will pm you later in year if your interested  :y

Hi,

I said I would report back after full Geo setup and thought I would post the before and after  :D

Well, after 2 new wishbones (fitted by Daz - Cheers  :y) I went to Nigel Langs today for 4 new tyres (Uniroyal Rainsport 3's), Geometry setup and A/C vac and refill/re-gas (A/C had 50gms refrigerant left from the 950 when car new !!! No leaks  :y so filled back up again and froze to death on way home  :y :y).

I would HIGHLY recommend the place.  Professional, Pete CERTAINLY knows his stuff and car totally transformed - like NEW again  :y :y :y  Would trust them with any car of mine and my steering wheel is now FINALLY STRAIGHT  8)

Car was way out, and crabbing a little.

The two new front Trackrods I bought were not needed, so I have a pair going to highest bidder  ;) Bought from http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=371053376220

Car handles great now, no wheel shake, no feeling like would catapult me off road  ??? and straight as die - I even ventured above 69mph (a tad  :D) and all felt solid and safe again  :y

Well chuffed.

Omega General Help / Re: Handbrake

To slacken the handbrake shoes , which way does each star adjuster move to slacken .. Just asking so i can make a note before starting .

Taxi Al got it spot on when I adjusted my handbrake.  To adjust the shoes apart right hand side is up and left hand side is down  :y

Assumes as mentioned they were fitted correctly, but mine have not been touched (had car from new) so last people to touch them was when it was the car was built  :D

Nigel has been in the motor trade for a long time now. I remember him running as an independant BMW specialist in the 80s.

:y. Good to know my baby will be in good hands next week then  :y
