Fault is with the original headunit, we only fitted the Alpine to get him sound again. Why is the Alpine going to overdrive the BOSE amplifier, we are using the remote turn on to power the amplifier on just like the factory headunit did.

@ Jack-V6 with the parrot kit just cut directly into the drivers door speaker and use the mute wire to silence the rest of the amplified system this will stop the screaming :-)

:) It's a NCDC 2013 unit. We replaced it with an Alpine to give him Bluetooth and iPod control. Another query is it possible to keep the fuel consumption reading etc now the factory unit has been removed ??

Thanks

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Bose Audio System Fault
« on: 30 November 2011, 22:49:08 »
Hi having a problem with the Bose system in a 2003 Vauxhall Omega Estate.
The system plays fine then the sound will just disappear but the CD continues to play.
The sound can be gone for various lengths of time.
I have got a spare used amplifier but this has made no change.
It kind of points to a faulty headunit but wanted to see if anyone had come across this problem

Thanks

Omega General Help / Re: Condensation inside car
« on: 27 November 2011, 21:02:15 »
As mentioned in my first post I checked all the drains which were clear and checked the filter which was new. Leaving climate in auto is useless as the condensation is so bad. Have noticed damp in boot on really wet day.
Car is going into my workshop to have everything bar the dash pulled out, I will find the leak :-)

Will let u know the results

Can you swap the old internals to the newer style cases thus keeping the memory function ?
