General Discussion Area / Re: Considering a new boiler............
« on: 06 August 2013, 08:52:12 »
When I renovated my house I pulled out the old back bolier & fire. I spoke to a few companies and all recommended I fit a new combi system elsewhere.

I fitted mine in the bathroom in a new cupboard I built for it. Boiler was £549 - all new rads & pipe was another £400 approx and then commissioning of the new boiler and installing all the rads etc was £600.

By the sounds of it he needs locking up, also I wonder what benefits he's receiving for being out of work... makes me want to move somewhere where that type of person would receive a public beating for that.

It says in the article... "Prison sentences cannot be imposed for an offence of speeding"

Perhaps if speeding is the only offence, maybe you need to also have no insurance etc to go to prison.

I've only recently bought my first house...  I'm paying £348 a month mortgage - that was with a 20k deposit though

Those figures don't stack up for a house in Hampshire surly?...... :-\ :-\ :-\

I managed to find a house for 95k that needed a lot of work  :)

I took me about 8 months and about 8k but it's all good now - just need to build a garage now

Result!!!!........... :y :y :y

It's not a massive house - 2 good size double bedrooms, but seeing at it's just for me it'll do nicely - hopefully be starting a garage soon - It won't be on same scale as the previous build thread on here, only 4x5.5m but big enough for a car and a bike.

I changed my system on my own just using two axle stands - took just over an hour because I had to drill one of the bolts out. I wish I'd sprayed the bolts a couple of days before with some penetrating spray or something.

You only really need to get the front up for the bolts into the cats I found.

Quite commonly served as a starter in Vietnam.  ;)

I'll have to keep an eye out for that...  off to Vietnam/Cambodia/Thailand next month  ;)

One of my friends did that with a Seat Leon Cupra R (K1 model - not a discreet car!) and didn't notice for over 8 months until he tried to buy tax.

How he wasn't stopped I don't know - must just be down to luck

« on: 21 March 2013, 14:10:13 »
My last policy came to £280 Tpft (Inc legal/breakdown/commuting) on a ThunderAce which I was reasonably happy about - I have had a claim in the last 5 years so that bumps it up a little.

That's with ebike

I've fitted one from them - but for the estate - quality seemed very good for the price, all the mounting kit was good.

Putting the new one on was much easier than getting the old one off!

That's shockingly slow... even for ADSL, I'm glad I've got a local ISP I'm with on LLU, my ping is <15ms and get a consistent 10-11Mb download

I'd be looking for a different provider if I were you

I've just bought a ThunderAce - seems a great bike. Mine is an ex-police one, 51k on it - Akrapovic Titanium can & stainless downpipes - two new Pilot sport tyres, very good condition despite the mileage.

Seems to be very planted, pulls well from about 3-4k upwards. Feels a fair bit heavier than my old blade (had an RR-w blade before - last year)

I'm not sure I'd like a bike that had been sat so long, only started and never ridden - cant be good for the engine.

oh, I paid £1050 for it :)

I moved mine recently - just re-punched the connections using a punch tool, it took all of 2 mins
