after checking basics got car started after giving starter gentle tap. Now suspect either bad connection at starter or starter u/s. Its covered in oil probably from cam cover leak. Any other views?

didnt drop diff on mine used bottle jack to push dowm lower arm after undoing lower shock mount took about 40 minutes cheating i know but works.

Any water or oil in plug wells. Get mirror and check to see if dispack (coil ) is damp or has rust staining on it. Finally are all plug leads attached firmly to coil. Last but a wild card is the crank sensor breaking down. This doesnt always give codes.

split gaiter is a fail im afraid not sure how easy to change though what about swapping shaft from a breaker.

when I did my rear springs recently I used a bottle jack and piece of wood to push rear arm down after undoing shock and roll bar link just two bolts what  result.

Does anyone know if a 95 2.5 belt is the same for a 2001 2.6 please. I have a brnad new one for the 2.5 and now the 2.6 one has started to squeal under load.

best of luck its always worse when its cold outside. I can remember many years ago throwing the springs across the garage and then had to spend ages looking for them. not a good idea.

when ive had problems with these i found if i used a pair of grips or g clamp to hold shoes to backplate it made getting these back on easier.

heavier car than both mentioned for a start and rwd as opposed to fwd so wil be different. Try the sport button if its auto ans then see the difference.
