sure, but from a plug in 50 quid chip?  it's a bit like when you dynojetted your bike, what you actually saw was throttle response and free breathing, and mistook it all for big power.

Isn't that just then"Sport" button on the latest Vx's?  DIdn't notice any difference on an Astra SRi, bar sharper throttle response..didn't go any quicker overall!

what do you want for a button ?????  :P
Preferably what it says on it...guess you can't polish a turd...

I'm saying mine has a factory alarm...
Has the ultrasonics on the B pillar, and what looks like a receiver in the sunroof panel - also the button on the dash.  Went digging around the drivers footwell outer kickplate for where my fuel pump wires should go through (according to the BOL).

Found a black unit there - but no fuel pump wires...wherer the hell are they???

Big Silver control unit above the pedals is the Auto ECU - right?

Trying to follow the loom of black wires from the alarm now...disappears down the back of the passenger glovebox somewhere..

It does have a factory alarm - but i don't have a fob for it and it looks to have been disabled somehow.

Have found some instructions on the mfrs website, so thnk i've got it sussed.  Now to try and find out why it's refusing to start (only did it after I posted this...) [smiley=angry.gif]

My Mig has a laserline alarm fitted (by a PO), the round fob type.  I know the smooth button does both the alarm and CL - but anyone know the purpose of the other 2 buttons?  I suspect one might be an immobiliser or ultrasonics off button, but haven't managed to figure it out!

Got no instructions with the car so no idea - and not found any joy on the net as yet.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Spare 7.5A ignition feed?
« on: 26 April 2008, 21:11:35 »
Normally, when i fit something into a car i can use an unused slot in a fusebox somewhere given there's normally something not fitted.  I looked at the back of the fusebox (under the steering wheel) and there appears to be nothing which is spare!  Mine isn't fully loaded by all means (appears to just have std CD fitments for the year) - thought i might be able to pinch the aircon fuse point (not fitted on mine), but there's no feed wire to that fuse either!

To cut to the chase..anywhere anyone can suggest to pick up a 7.5A igntion controlled feed?

Have looked at (things not fitted)..

Traction Control
Aircon
Electric seats (but they are electric up/down and heated)

Help???

Lizzie - can't confirm the wiring i've listed as i found it (the two-wire wiring i've inherited from Hillper doesn't quite match up), but i guess its a frig to make it just on/off, rather than fully integrated.  Whichever way, it works..be nice to try it with a little adjuster, though...

99
I was crafty in the link...instead of putting the normal http://.... its embedded in the word "here"...like this one in a different colour...

I've not connected the Reverse..or the adjustment yet; at which point, i'll need a lot more wires!  Found the following - not sure if its right, though..
brown to earth
black to ignition (found on interior light)
white/black to reversing light wire (found in the passenger footwell - same colour)
grey/black to the interior light grey wire.

You have no tint when in reverse so you can see where you are going. The light sensor is deactivated when the interior light is on to prevent the light dimming the mirror. You may be left with another 7 wires which are for electric adjustment of the mirror. If you wish to connect this up details are below.
Fit another vauxhall mirror adjustment switch e.g. by the gear leaver. A late switch would be best (e.g from a vectra) without the heater button or led. Connect the following switch wires up to the electric window switch connectors under the handbrake grip.

Black to Black (ignition)
Brown to Brown (earth)
Connect black/red to black/red on the omega mirror
Connect yellow to blue/red on the omega mirror
Connect green to blue/white on the omega mirror
If the switch moves in the wrong dirrection, i.e up/down when it should go left/right. Swap the yellow & green wires round.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Auto dipping mirror fitted!!
« on: 26 April 2008, 19:17:47 »
Finally got road to having an hour to fit the auto-dipping I bought.  Followed Hillpers guide here - even down to the trick of using an old PC motherboard connector..

...and it works!  Found that also the mirror can be tested by putting your hand in front of the "daylight" sensor on the back of the mirror to test it without it being dark.

For reference, mine's a pre-facelift and the mirror seems to be a post-facelift one (96 Elite - and the same as the one in the guide) - although the bracket on the mirror looks different, it still fits fine.  Just make sure you push it up the second bit (it seems to slide in, but wobble - pushing it the second bit sorts it for good).

I was on a roll..so thought i'd have a look at my misbehaving MID display..now it doesn't work at all!

Otherwise a couple of scotchloks I suppose. Would be interesting to see some connectors.... ::)

Don't swear...scotchlocks are the devils work...the person who invented them needs stringing up by their privates...

I had a recent issue of everything on that centre switch panel (except the hazards) went.  By a process of elimination, it was the drivers heated seat which blew the fuse, yet after making a mental note not to use the heated seat again (I actually wasn't at the time...??), replaced the fuse, then accidentaly hit the heated seat switch, yet fuse didn't blow!  ONly thing I did was move the seat, so somethings probably awry with the wiring.

Just because the fuse looks ok, don't assume it is...been there, t-shirt, etc.  If you have a voltmeter, you can check for voltage TO the fuse by measuring the voltage at the top terminal of the fuse with the engine running (there's no volts there with just ignition on - or rather there isn't on mine!).  That might be another clue...?

Haynes

RPM green wire

Remember through wiring to boot

power - fused lead direct to battery

Cut cable fits on each injector

Cheers for that, martin...just need to confirm the lambda signal wire...what does the Haynes say (my ebay purchase still hasn't turned up... >:( )?

104
Can anyone confirm the lambda signal is Brown/Blue?

105
Has anyone got one in electronic format, or know where i might be able to find one?

Hoping to install my LPG kit this Easter weekend (inbetween the snow and hail), but need to pick up the lambda signal (ECU, i guess) and rpm (green wire, i gather?).

Also come in hand if there was an unused supply in the fuse box to borrow (mine doesn't have aircon, btw).  Any ideas?
