I got P'd off with call outs to printers. Hardly any server or networking faults. Nothing but bloomin printers. They got Xerox Phaser 8200's in and used cheap wax. £1800 for me to replace the head, all so they could save a few quid on consumables, loved it  ;D

Got accredited on Phasers (no Star Trek Jokes).

I got to the stage where I just removed the duplexers on the 4000's and told the customers to use the 5SI as every M&S has one. New Duplexers lasted about 6 months PITA.

Could do a 4000 with my eyes closed and tell you what the fault codes really mean (not hp's definition).

ROLLERS, ROLLERS, ROLLERS, ROLLERS, ROLLERS, ROLLERS maybe the Fuser  ;D

Ahhhh HP LJ printers. Bloody hate them  >:( 4000 was an easy strip down to fix. You need a tennis court to dismantle the 5SI on. The LJ 3, 4, 5 were Ok but could be a nightmare. At least the 4000 series was engineer friendly (mostly).

Sorry, 6 years of fixing those things in tight cramped offices will drive you up the wall  :o :o

Definately a scam, just got a fake Paypal e-mail. No funds in my account. According to the ebay Q+A section this is the most active scam at the moment. Asking you to ship to different address from the one registered on ebay is a big NO NO.

They are not that clever, no spell checker used  ::)

I posted the ebay scam thread at 12:02, after i hit post it just locked up. Left a window open for at least 20 mins and all i got was the blue progress bar at the bottom of IE.

Was a bit drunk last night but I recon it was down for at least an hour to an hour and a half.

I got a New Vectra Estate 2.0dti as a company car about 5 years ago. It drank the oil like it was going out of fashion ;D
Asked Vx and they said it was normal on that car, it stopped being such an oilaholic after about 35k.

Boss was a bit annoyed as I kept topping it up with Gtd Magnatec or something (the expensive stuff) ;D ;D

Shops are useless, I got very little official training. Figured most out for myself. I'm a stubborn bugger too, I have a breaked bush widescreen downstairs that a shop quoted £165 for a chip at £17.51 from Bush directly. Soldering that in tomorrow.

I'm a Jock, skinflint, Stingy Git. If I drop a coin it hits me on the back of the head. ;D ;D ;D

Fair enough but are the cds tried known to be definately bootable. I was in IT with ICL (later Fujitsu) for 9 years and came across alot of these kind of problems. Not been beaten yet, although I had the offender in front of me at the time.
