Thank you for making me feel welcome!
Please play nicely. No one wants to listen/read a keyboard warriors rants....
Hi and welcome to the forumI'll check it out tomorrow, before I go the whole hog and take off the heads. The thing is that there is steam coming out of the exhaust, would this still happen if it was the oil cooler? Sorry for going off at a tangent, this was supposed to be a newbie post...
Sounds like the oil cooler has gone too me
hi mate welcome to oof . your new car is the same as mine even the colour the reg and its a saloon . but mine is a 2ltr / not beasty 3ltr. nice looking car enjoy the challenge on your head gasket ?I'll try mate
Welcome to OOF I would highly doubt the head gasket has gone, rare as hens teeth unless it was run for a long time overheated, more likely to be the oil cooler. It's been loosing coolant like you wouldn't believe, the oil filler cap and spout is full of mayo and the oil is like something out of Willy Wonka's factory! The temp gauge never went above 90 so I'm guessing it's the head gasket, I hope it is anyway as the engine is now in pieces :-/
I'm just curious that's all!!!Quotei don't know, it was hard enough to get the top this shineyQuoteLooks very nice mate. Dis you do both sides or just the top?
why on earth would you do the bottom!??!?
nice looking mig you have there...I know what you mean. The nice weather this week has really shown her at her best. She out shines all the cars in the office carpark!
love the contours of a mig in the sun...
just noticed the comment on the pics , looks like Dad kept her in great shape , a very nice gesture from him to give you the car , what a presentHe did look after her and yes, he is a great dad to have!
Well done on your fix!! car looks great, myself and m1ct belive the 3.0 ELITE perface mig's are the best mig's made!!Thank's for the invite, would love to come up and meet some fellow mig nuts. When and how often do you all meet up?
We have the twin to your's, colour, seats etc.
Maybe you can make it to one of the reading meets be great to see??
Rob
That looks great , mine is the same year but not in as good a condition , grill looks nice as well , good job done there, and yes you do look a proud owner and so you shouldShe is in very good condition but there are some areas of bodywork that do need sorting out, which will all be done in time, as for the grill, it was on the car when my dad bought it 8 years ago. Apparently is was a Vauxhall Directors car when new so had a few added extra bits included.
Take care
Dave

No mate, it was free, to be honest they didn't even really look at it. They could see that I had new plates on so that was good enough for them I guess.QuoteTook the Mig in for it's MOT today and they failed it on the n/s washer jet which was just dribbling out and the rear number plate, apparently it had delaminated! I couldn't believe it, how picky can you get!did you have to pay for retest
However, within 30 mins I had been to my local auto factors and had some new plates made up and while they were being done I popped home and cleared the washer jet with my air line..... all sorted and MOT passed!
