OK, I'll might give it a go later this week. What should happen when I ground the connector with the ignition on? ???

Job done, all back together....Primed fuel line and pressed the starter....started immediately. Going a lot better than before. I got Bosch Part No: 0280 130 093, apparently they're two different ones: Blue - before engine no 08135541 & Black after. Anyway my engine was in the after category so got the black one.

No luck with the temp gauge, changed the sensor but no difference, can't spend any more time on this one, so I'll leave it.

Thanks for all the help and assistance.  :y

Right....Remove the two elbows, four bolts on the plenum, lift forward. I'll go and do it now. I'll keep you posted. Thanks.

Oh, ok, I'l try that when the bits arrive. I've just ordered them....90541520 for the ECU one and 90510850 for the gauge one. Hope that's the correct numbers. I'm guessing its probably a bit easier with the scuttle thing removed?

Thanks for that Dr.G. No, I haven't swapped the plugs over (not been tinkering in that area...yet!). It starts immediately when hot, its just it really struggles when cold, to the extent of sometimes eventually almost flattening the battery. The temperature gauge on the instrument panel has never worked properly so I think I'l replace both sensors whilst I've got the intake bridge off and working in that area.

Unfortunately I don't have a scan tool (my X30XE isn't ODB-II compliant) and I can't afford an Opel Scan device. So I'll check the fuel supply pressure on cranking as a starting point.

The MV6 (1999 - Mini Facelift) has just passed it's MOT with flying colours, after installing some nice new Kilen Springs to replace the broken one (thanks for the help and advice on that job). Now the bad news....its suddenly struggles to start, e.g. 4/5 attempts, but once running and warmed up its absolutely tickety boo. Did paperclip test - code 15. Before I start stripping it all down to replace the ECU Temp Sensor, does this sound like the correct diagnosis?  :o Thanks

I did the wishbones when I got the car a while back. So I'll take your advice and replace the strut tops, bearings and bump stops/dust cover thing. Might as well as I've got it all dismantled....Thanks.

Ok, I'll replace both springs and shocks. Thanks for the tip on greasing the strut bearing, I'll do that while I've got it all dismantled and there's a local firm who does camber/caster/toe settings for about 90 quid so I'll probably go down that road when I've completed the job. Many thanks for all your help... :y

Ok..so just torque it up to 90Nm and I'll be good to go? Although I'm reasonably competent, this is the first time that I've removed the suspension leg, are there likely to be any difficulties I'm likely to encounter? - (I should add I'm fitting new springs and while I'm about it replacing the leg/shock absorber and I've got a mate coming over with a proper spring compressor). Thanks  ;)

I've got to replace a broken spring on the mini-facelift MV6, but at the moment, I can't seem to get hold of the 'controlled yield' (stretch) bolts. I know the torque setting is 90Nm + 45' + 15' for new bolts but as I'll probably have to reuse the old ones, any suggestions as to torque?

Omega General Help / Re: v6 lamda sensor connector location
« on: 12 May 2016, 21:53:46 »
Further to the above, tests would seem to indicate a break and/or damage to the signal wire. Rather than faff about trying to find the break, I intend to replace/by-pass the original wire with some nice new RG316 heatproof co-ax from ECU multi-pin plug to Lamda. Problem is, being a V6, there are two lamda sensors & therefore there are two signal wires emanating from the ECU plug, and, unhelpfully both are red + blue tracer, from terminals 28 & 47 respectively, but there's no indication which is N/S and which is O/S. So for example, does T28 got to N/S or O/S sensor? Many Thanks.

Omega General Help / v6 lamda sensor connector location
« on: 10 May 2016, 17:53:20 »
Like the heading suggests, I need to locate the connector. I took my MV6 in for it's MOT, (passed with flying colours) but afterwards when I drove away I noticed the ECU warning light flickering. I did the 'paperclip test' and it came up 'no 2 o2 sensor open circuit' fault code 89. Now I'm guessing the mot bloke may have dislodged the connector somehow, but I don't know where this is.
