It might also suggest that the Air con isn't working? Mine mists up a little when i have the Eco button pressed but always clears with the AC on.

I've just tried the paperclip test.. no error codes (other than the usual 12 and 31).
It was running fine on petrol before i calibrated it and it actually started/went to idle okay on petrol this time (from cold) but it wouldn't idle (kept cutting out) earlier when the engine was hot. Also, i turned it to gas, idled and then jabbed at the accelerator and it cut out.
Back to the drawing board..

Omega General Help / LPG system running badly.

Hi all,
I don't know if anyone can help or not but hopefully someone can, please. I've got a Dream XXI C LPG system (on a 2000 3.0 MV6) that's not playing nice any more. It idles badly, runs very rich (I used to get 21-25mpg, now i'm getting 16-18) and splutters a lot when cold. I've got all the kit (software, dongle and cable) to alter it but when i tried doing the auto-calibration today, its running a lot better on gas but now won't idle on petrol and sometimes dies when accelerating on gas. Bah.
Does anyone happen to have a decent, working, configuration that they'd be able to pm/email me so i can try uploading it to my car, please? If anyone else has a 3.0 MV6 with a Dream XXI C system, of course. I can re-load the original config, so i'm not stuck but i thought i'd ask

Alternatively, does anyone know how to alter the reducer pressure, please? Mine's running at approximately 1.17 bar, instead of 0.97, which probably doesn't do it any good either.

Omega General Help / Does the MV6 have different springs to others?

As the title says, really.. does anyone happen to know if the MV6 has different springs to the majority of other Omega models, please? I remember something about some part of the suspension being the only difference, lowered and whatnot, but is that the springs, shocks, something else or none of the above? I also remember hearing something about there being LP and LQ springs, with the latter being for Sport models, the former being for the rest.
I'm just curious from having the springs replaced with motor factor parts to the sounds of "Oh, we do these all the time" from the garage, when the factors told me that they only had one type of spring.

Omega General Help / Goodridge brake hoses?

Does anyone happen to know if Goodridge (or any make of braided hose) hoses would make any difference to braking performance, please? Assuming something like this isn't fitted as standard to an MV6, that is.
I've been toying with the idea of braided hoses and some AP600 or Castrol SRF brake fluid (if i can afford it) if that's not too terribly mad. I should pretty much change the brake fluid anyway as i don't know when it was last done but had the idea of using something better and pondered better fluid and hoses.

Hmmm, looking at that picture, i wonder if the PCB can be recreated as well as repaired. Depending on what components are on the other side, it might be possible . I shall have to investigate when i've taken it apart . Thank you!

I meant for the selector switch.. aren't they around the £120 - £150 mark for a new one? Or did i just dream that to scare myself?

Hehe, okay. Thankyas both for the advice . I'd best go hunt under the sofa cushions for an extra 150 quid.. this could take some time and a lot of visitors with holes in their pockets

The selected light comes on but every so often it flicks between D and N then all the lights come on. It did it twice this morning from a "cold" start but then didn't do it again and i made about seven stops. I just turn the engine off/on and its usually fine for the rest of the day.
I agree about the potential waste of time too, which was why i was happy to try just having the oil sucked out/changed as i already had 7 litres of Dexron 3 sitting in the garage (in bottles, obviously.

Its pretty much a rhetorical question but why are Vauxhall so rubbish?!
On the basis that Vx previously couldn't even send the correct oil filter for my MV6, i figured that i'd get Ford Rapid Fit - who have always done a good job on my cars in the past - to change my gearbox oil with the suck and spit method (hose instead of taking the sump apart - i know its not the real way to do it but i've had the oil for ages and not got a place to change it myself) for £20. My gearbox drops into limp home every so often and from previous advice on here, i know its probably the selector switch but i thought i'd give an oil change a go first.
Rapid Fit ring Vauxhall, who tell them that the gearbox is broken and i'll need a new one. They also say that to change the oil, it has to be at a specific temperature and has to be connected to a Tech2 to to ascertain when this is
. Erm, okay. Of course, now Rapid Fit won't do anything because if they get it wrong, they'll be liable and won't take on the job without a Tech2 to get the correct oil temp - which is fair enough. I guess i'd better find a place to do it myself then. Pah, another two hours wasted, waiting for someone to tell me that they can't do the job because Vauxhall have prevented them doing it.
Later on in the day, i asked at another branch how much the oil change would be and they told me £133 + parts + vat.
"Oh and it probably won't do any good."
"I know, its probably the selector switch."
"Yes, that's what the service manager said."
Thanks for volounteering that information. Very kind. So.. probably doesn't need a new gearbox then?

Just out of interest, when you get the kit, could you have a look at the springs and see if they have an LP or LQ marking on them, please? Or neither.
