I started using the blind when I realised that it may be not working, but without the blind it does'nt react at all to anything..... :'(

Is this a myth or have I got one that doesn't work? I've read somwhere that the Elites are fitted with an automatically dimming rear view mirror. I'm a bit confused because I use the rear blind at night and it does the job. There is however a small senser type thing in the rear view mirror but it defo doesn't dim when I get headlights in it.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

If it's ok when warm then I'd say glow plugs. Dont take it for granted that they are ok........Poor starting with a deisel is usually down to the air temperature, especially now, so my first port of call would be these.

Might be worth having it checked again. But I would just have a good look at it first, measure the wheels as I suggested then if there is still a considerable difference then get it back to the garage for another check.

Whats the handling of the car like? If suspect, take accurate measurements from wheel centers to equal fixed points elswhere, ie wheel arches, chassis ect. Dont rely on the bumper as a reference as it may be out of alighnment anyway. Could be bushes, and/or bent suspension component.

There is probably a patent or something on them however, this doesn't mean one couldn't be made (or something very similar).

If there is a problem lending one out, then all I would need is a half decent drawing with some accurate dimensions.  Basically, the items that make up the complete kit would have to be measured accurately and these dimensions shown on clear drawings......once I've got a good idea of what is required, I can crack on. And yes, OOF members would be given the chance to order a 'pattern' copy of the kit at a very very good price....that's assured.

10 minutes ago I couldn't spell engineer......now I are one...... ;D

Hi. I was wondering whether anyone has a cam locking kit for the 2.5 V6......My belt and roller change isn't due for a while but being as I'm a turner/miller I would like to have a good cogitate, and see if I could make one. We are a bit slack at work at the moment so what an opportunity.... :-X.....anyway, a loan of one or even a drawing would be cool.

If it works out ok then I could run off a few for the OOF members at a reasonable price..... :y

It's the undercut on the plug thread that will cause you grief trying to remove it. The obvious place for the thread to get mullered is at the bottom near this undercut i.e overtightening ect. It will therefore not 'catch' the thread in the hole so you can undo it. Brute force and ignorance if you are going to change the sump anyway  ;D. Try fabricating a thin wedge with a suitable 'vee' in the end that you can drive under the head of the bolt whilst undoing it. Once it bites you may be lucky enough to remove it and fit a helicoil if its not too bad. Good luck mate..... :y

Ha....they're all the same mate.....when the Omega is running well with plenty of petrol in the tank then the missus is fine. When it comes to taxing it, putting in petrol or whatever, i get 'its too expensive, too big' and suddenly becomes my car and not 'our' car...........?????? :-X

Public transport round here is about as much use as a fish with tits, hence I rely on my Omega. I'm sure you could get it sorted for much less........I recently saw an ad in the local paper from Kwik-Fit. They were doing the Pirelli P-6000 225/55 ZR 16 for £82.00 fitted and balanced. Nearly half what they quoted you??? Plus, Fast-Fit (Wilco) were doing the same for £79.95 fitted and balanced. I'm sure that someone will be able to help out more with the exhaust prices........and bad days do come with the good days  ;D  ;D    :y

Hi mate....defo wheel balance I should think. You can usually see where the blocks have dropped off of the rims. Mine does it at about 80, but around 95 and above it stops again. Also it could be a distorted tyre. This would be obvious i.e. bulges in the tyre wall, distorted bead ect.

Getting the wheels checked and re-balanced would be my first port of call......good luck..... :y

Everything else works fine apart from the 'feet' only setting. It works but even on full blast it's not a powerful as before, and doesn't seem as warm. This has suddenly started happening. It's a 98 Elite with climate. Tried resetting servo's but this didn't cure the prob.

Any suggestions.....thanks... :y
