hi, from a sheffielder lol. i had my filter and ATF changed, made no differance, the old filter and oil didnt look that old, maybe previous owner tried this before delling it to me.
its intermittent, some days rarely have the problem, others its quite regular. doin my head in now. running in sports mode to solve it. 

I'd like to know more about this, a my 2.2 auto, sticks on 2nd gear when warm sometimes. I'd expect it to do it when cold, to warm up all the fluids etc, but when warm!??

Mine stick's 2/3.

Hello!

My name is Mike, an i have recently just bought a 2001 Y reg Omega 2.2 CDX auto.

I've had an omega in the past, a lovely Omega B, 3.0 V6 Auto Elite. Loved that car but it was a bit heavy on the juice! haha.

Just thought i'd join here, as i am a member of a few other forums, and in the past i've had several vauxhalls.
