Its why I dont have lodgers any more, i used to and some were good, but then some would be late with rent, take the piss with food, never clear up etc, i did put a lock on my door but then decided I wasnt going to live like that in my home so ive not had any since i moved. if you need to have them for the income, basicly they are all always going to take the piss, get referances and CHECK them, make sure the rent in advance and a decent deposit, more likely to look after it then.

General Car Chat / Re: too much oil?
« on: 14 April 2012, 18:05:56 »
changed the oil, my can holds 6ltrs and that overflowed! put 4.5ltrs back in, got up the road to a hill, and it flooded the road with smoke, but then seemed to clear  ??? done about 10 miles didnt see any smoke, the plugs were coverd in oil and pretty crap so fitted some in halfrauds car park then drove home, but now its got a intermit missfire! one lead looked a bit sus when i had them off, only spare i had was off a 8v belmont so tried that a min ago and it felt like the missfire had gone but a bit weak, hopefully thats just down to not fitting right on the dis pack end.

General Car Chat / too much oil?
« on: 14 April 2012, 14:24:33 »
Hi, Im just checkin a few things on the smokey vectra, the breathers all seem clear, bit of oil around the throttle body so its a heavy breather lol
But, i just checked the dipstick, the car is sloppin back just very slightly (so this would make it read less?) but the oil is thick black and looks to me too be well over the max by a inch? would this cause the blue smoke at higher revs?

So, thinking the vectra would be cheaper to run and handy hatch, paid to swap insurance over, then went and taxed it...
Thought it was feeling a little sluggish but wasnt sure if it was just me, finaly got somewhere i could give it a good blast and it turns out its a massive fan of the red arrows! blue smoke everywhere so that'l be the piston rings then and money down the drain.
God knows what its worth now  >:( :'(

pretty sure it has to be within reason distance wise, also most insurance wont be valid without a valid mot. you have to argue it with what ever copper pulls you to if they take your car and leave you with a long walk home.

I loved my 84 4.2, not owned a v12 but borrowed one for couple weeks and loved it! the prices have been rising steadily.
5 years ago i got mine, with the biggest service history ever (his company paid for any and every work for the 10 years he owned it) so no expense spared , very solid and only 90k. we done a straight swap for my VDP1500..... which was a little tatty. i sold it some time later for £800. then last year i spotted it on ebay where it sold for £2400 !!  :o

Interesting approach, but its success is more dependent on the year of the daughter!
I think you'll be looking for a secondhand seat.
And doing a lot of grovelling.

I decided she was 17  :P
