Thanks for the info, i agree it does have an MV6 kind of look, given the Omega's age now and the rather patchy rust treatment of the model the condition of the car is crucial and up to now all i am able to find are car's with a ' story ' 

I will see if i can get up to the dealer and take a look, ta.

There is a 58k example for sale which looks in very nice condition, the finding of a decent mileage and condition Elite (which has been un-molested) is now I fear long gone so i need to find an Omega which is in the best overall condition i can find. Anyone had the ' Sport ' ?

Has anyone upgraded their audio system on a CDX but KEPT the standard headunit ? By either adding better speakers and a hidden sub (not in the boot like a gangster etc) and maybe an inline amp at speaker line level ?

N.B Trying to get it a CDX version of the BOSE in the Elite.

An elite i am considering has a duff front heated seat (cloth)..... so is this a pain to repair if its the element or is it a goer ?

Cheers for that, i am looking at buying one which is for sale and the owner says the rear sensors have been turned off on the ' computer ' due to the towbar ?

Morning guys,
I was just wondering if anyone has ever used a glass scratch repair kit to remove wiper blade scratches from the windscreen and if so are they any good? Got some on my Omega windscreen thought I would try to polish them out before going for a replacement windscreen. That looks decent enough, the T Cut and Autoglym stuff is fine for making the screen shine but it will remove scratches caused by stones and grit on the blades being dragged across the screen.

Thanks for all the info, the car i had been looking at went anyway, but i did have my worry hat on given a few ' issues ' the seller had mentioned. I will go on condition alone and if svc history is there then all the better. Just need to find the right one now, which is not so easy when the advert says ' mint ' but the MOT history on the DVLA site says something totally different !

Would you ever buy a 2000 3.0 elite without any service history at all, no idea if cambelt has been done or annything else, car is cheap for the miles but a big risk i suspect. Experiences.

If some good ones come up then i will weigh up the odds and prices at the time, there are some real dodgy ones on the market at the moment with some for sale over a long period of time..... for good reason.

Some are going for the very low hundreds with others close to £2000...... there are few around anyway but just what would you pay for a reasonably tidy and avg mileage 3.2 elite.

Been looking for a decent (low ish miles) Elite for a while now and still no luck, i am coming across a decent number of 2.2 CDX''s and 2.6 CDX's with a lot more CD's etc but very few Elites and the ones i see have always got moon mileage or a ' story '.

Do you think they are long gone now ?

Ok, not quite as it seems, i am going on holiday and also going to be viewing an omega whilst there, if i like it i was going to ring my current insurance company and ask for a 5 day insurance policy on it but how do i tax it given when sold the tax is cancelled and i will need to tax it before i drive it..... all whilst on holiday ?
