Omega General Help / Re: Lack Of Power On Acceleration

Furthermore.. as the professionals here probably already know, I originally enquired about an irmscher backbox via the dealer and also called irmscher in germany and uk. No luck they have completely stopped making them and no longer available.

Okay, having taken Wilberforce (my omega) to Opel in Germany, they completely revamped my car with a full original exhaust system (middle 500 euro) rear (285 euro) full service (350 euro), but in the process it turned out that it was the coil beginning to show its age and that too had to be replaced (350 euro) on top of new rear brake pads. So the answer to anyone else having similar issues is this.. check sensors, spark plugs, ht leads, failing that, it's the Bosch coil pack that without fail always goes around the 50,000 mile mark. After having this replaced, runs like a dream and despite the major fork out in cash, had it done properly by the sausage guzzlers and now have a near new mechanically sound omega.

altogether the damage was 1,650 euro (tax free)

hope this helps with ideas of prices if anyone finds similar problems with theirs and helps determine pants performance.  ::)

Ok ecu codes reveal that I am getting low voltage at the MAF sensor, EGR and Oxygen sensors.. Is there I way I can reset the onboard ecu to default and in turn clear the codes? One of my bosses at work the other week was disconnecting my MAF and EGR while the engine was running trying to help figure out the problem with me when it all first started so I'm guessing he may probably have made those error codes by doing this?

Thanks.

Ok chaps,

I have obtained a paperclip, and I am shortly about to pick the brains of the beast to see what it puts out in terms of/if any error codes. I believe the HT leads are on correctly, however if this being the case i will double check via my haynes manual to see if i can find exactly what order the ht leads are supposed to go and double check, it's a proper a$$ cracker trying to get to the coil pack though. even stretch armstrong complained when I called him up to ask if he could help me out.   :D
Righto thanks for the tips the mission has begun will let you know in a couple of hours of my findings!

Thanks again!

Ok today I have started my car again after a couple of days not using it, I havent dont the paperclip test yet as i dont have a paperclip but will do it tommorow. The car is still shuddering and when i put the hammer down to the floor, it's taking about 5 seconds to get to 30.. with my foot right down to the floor.  it's getting really bad despite sparks and leads being changed, its like it being starved of something.

Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / Cheap Bumper And Rear Bumper?
« on: 18 November 2011, 19:41:03 »
Hey,

I have a few dents and what not in both my bumper and rear bumper, I looked on ebay to find a rear bumper for 35 quid, unsprayed, not sure of the spraying costs to have it to graphite, would anyone know of this value? however if anyone has both in graphite for an omega b elite (2000) I would be most grateful and I'll even iron my trainers.

Thanks lads  :)

I have plugged in a diagnostics computer into the vehicle, and no error codes appear, however this diagnostics machine is a friends who is helping me get this problem sorted.. My only question is, does this diagnostoc device have to be of a certain type? If so caould you please specify exactly the make of the diagnostic device and other specs?

Cheers  :D

Omega General Help / Lack Of Power On Acceleration
« on: 18 November 2011, 19:06:23 »
I've been experiencing lack of power from my omega 3.0 auto elite (2000 facelift model B) It turned out it wasnt firing on all cylinders due to a snapped HT lead, however having bought new HT leads from Opel here in Germany, the engine is still shaking violently at lower speeds/revs. It doesn't sound healthy, not to the untrained ear, but certainly to mine and the 0-60 time is 12 seconds, whereas before it was 7.5. The engine rev's like nuts also but no power at all even after fresh spark plugs and leads. Could this be an Air intake issue or could it be the throttle housing is blocked? I'm now thinking it's an air intake issue or fuel filter?
It's happened only recently and very quickly. the car though has always seemed to "rock" on braking, wheels are balanced, brakes are fine, but this is the same effect i am experiencing now when the car runs at idle. It rocks heavily as though it struggling and requiring some sort of attention I just can't figure out.

Please help! Thanks chaps!  :y
