« on: 10 November 2007, 09:09:02 »
i've got a 98 2.5 auto estate which i run down to london every week to work and i get 32mpg on the way down and 35 on the return journey ,only being heavy footed when overtaking.
i also have a w reg bmw tourer 318i 1.9 and driving it exactly the same way there is no difference in the consumption .

i bought my two centre and tailbox for my 2.5v6 off ebay, shipped from germany £120.
well built fitted perfect , i fitted the 3.0ltr tailbox as it has the twin outlet instead of the single but fixings are all the same.and i gave it a coat of engine black paint for a bit more protection as well.

i got a quote from my local vaux dealer and they wanted £150 for one centre box  :-[

so i bought 2 centre boxes and a 3.0 tailbox from ebay £109 shipped from germany, i done a slight mod to tailbox by cutting it open and removing sound proofing and was amazed at the thickness of the metal it took a lot to cut through with the grinder.
and as to fitting it went on very easily after a good coat of engine lacquer all over and some copper slip up the joints.
i thought it was good value for the money but time will tell ;)
