Is that a part thats available from the dealers, mine has been damaged ever since i had the car, looks like it had been chiseled out for whatever reason. Whoever did it made a right B@ll@cks of it.

Yes, as mentioned above, 1/2 hour with G3 was enough to sort mine out. Just keep going till it stops cutting and clean off with clean rag and warm soapy water.

Omega General Help / Re: Studs Sheard

Hi Dave
Depending its not snapped too far into the head it's still possible to extract using a welder.
One of mine was below the surface of the head, had to apply some short bursts of weld creating a "blob" of weld . I then welded a large washer onto the blob and used a cold chisel to drift out the remaining bit of stud. I could have also weeded a nut onto the blob of weld and turned out using that. Don't build up too much heat using this method though or you will damage the threads in the ally head

if you have access to a mig welder, i sorted mine by welding some 13mm nuts to the ends of the broken studs and then using a combination of 13mm spanner and cold chisel to gently ease them out..

Thanks, welding not a prob,  i have a Mig welder. Thought maybe it would just require cutting out and the replacement would be a clamp fitting for both ends. Do you know what size i need?

Thanks again

yes, tried 2 i got of ebay.....neither worked.  :o  Bought genuine.....after fitting light went out on first crack of key. :y  Had to do a little wiring though as it was the modified sensor, as opposed to the older square type  one fitted originally.

I have an old Gunson plug in tester, nothing special. Just plugs in to the connector by the fuse board and makes the eml flash when ignition on. This is very easily done with using a paperclip.

Hi

Yes i thought it was the incorrect sensor, but it has 3 pins just like the old one. Although as you say it has the rounded plug...I found this while surfing...
