this is what i had concluded after reading on various forums and studying the wiring diagrams. basically im getting no spark but the fuel pump primes etc. the paper clip test threw up 3 faults secondary air pump (in the loft) and a MAF sensor fault. and the immobiliser control unit failure (no signal).

better search for maf sensor failure read up on that.

the transponder i presume is in the key if so yes it is acting exactly as in the omega as ive used the omegas steering colulm immobiliser ecu and switches. the EML doesnt flash when the car turns over so im presuming its something else the camm sensor wire sheath has been stretched / broken but surely this would produce a cam sensor fault on the paper clip test. what i have not got plugged in is any of the central locking system and i cut the lower loom that travels over the tunnel to the drivers side of the car and thewiring to the alarm ecu . is this the likely cause as the alarm ecu is no longer connected ? tbh its a propper can of worms now and my eyes hurt from looking at the haynes wiring diagrams.
is there a way to bypass the immobiliser just to get the engine to run ?

hello i need some help with my immobiliser. im using the omega as a donor car for a haynes roadster but im having difficulty with the alarm immobiliser system. the car was a p reg 2.0 16v ecotec i took all the bits i needed including the full loom. i have two keys the the immobiliser ecu on the colulm and the ecu from the donor the car is now sat with the bits in place i was trying to temporarily start the engine. the car cranks over and the fuel pump primes but i have no spark at the plugs i have done the paperclip test and i get a 1502 code which i beleive is immobiliser control unit fault (no signal). but have read that it could be the camm or crankshaft sensor.

im not sure which type of immobiliser it has. i have the alarm fobs and the two keys does the imobiliser purely work by having the key inserted or is it the type that you deactivate with the fob ? can anyone shed a bit of light for me ? or even a way to bypass the immobiliser alltogether i just want the engine to fire up and seeing as ive tried to use as much of the donor as possible clocks fuel pump hubs etc etc id like to have it run on the original ecu.

many thanks
rob
