Omega General Help / Re: Swirl pot query

Thanks Rob. Burtle and Lozzzzz are on Scimitarweb too, so I've seen their build threads.
(Though so far these Scimega conversions have used external pumps.)

I really wasn't thinking.  :-[ All I had to do was set the swirl pot into a couple of inches of water in the sink to find that it does flow in through the valve. Sorted.

Good to know it's a reliable pump, TheBoy  :)

Symes, The Rover V8 is alright, but IMO (and it's only my opinion) it's had it's day as a conversion. It wasn't what I wanted to do with this car. I wanted a modern powerplant. As for simpler to wire-up, this is a ground-up rebuild, and I'll be using the Omega loom rather than splicing the engine management into a 40 year-old bunch of wires  :)

Omega General Help / Swirl pot query

Howdy.

I'm transplanting an Omega 3.0 V6 into a Reliant Scimitar, and plan to use the Omega fuel pump and swirl pot in the Scimitar tank.

Looking at the swirl pot, I'm curious. How does fuel get into it? The only opening I can see in the base is a spring-loaded valve, which looks like it's part of the fuel return.

Omega General Help / Aftermarket Gearbox flange
« on: 09 January 2012, 20:17:16 »
Evening all.

I'll 'fess up and admit I'm only here because I'm transplanting an X30XE into a Reliant Scimitar, which may sound familiar.

My question is, do any Vauxhall tuners offer an aftermarket flange for the back of the Omega's gearbox? A traditional universal joint is better for a live-axled car, so a traditional 4-bolt flange would be better. It occurred to me that something like this might have come up for X30XE's going into retro Kadetts and such.

Any info appreciated,

Cheers,
Darryl
