Omega General Help / Re: Key In Ignition Problem

Sounds like the lock is failing, had this happen to me on 3 different vauxhalls, you need to replace the barrel. I do have one with a key if you are stuck but it would need your chip swaping

Omega General Help / Pass side air bag and cover Do You Want it
« on: 03 July 2007, 09:44:19 »
Hi

Been having a bit of a clear out in the old shed, found  the n/s/f air bag and cover panel from a '98.

Should and one of you require this then you are welcome to it as it will only go in the bin if not.

You could collect it from me {in Rotherham} or I could send it with the courier I use but you would have to pay the courier fee {£9}

cheers

Andy

Omega General Help / Thanks to Mark
« on: 02 July 2007, 20:15:17 »
Hi

After 3 weeks of messing about trying to get a fob programed or by pass the immobiliser I have just got my car running.

I thought I'd better just drop a quick post to say thanks to Mark for his help with this, without his advice I would still be having a nightmare in another 3 weeks!!

Cheers

Andy

« on: 01 July 2007, 20:26:13 »
hi

I asked about this early this week but I am still having botter!!

Can anyone tell me how to by pass the alarm and immobilser on a early omega, the one with the infra red remote.  I understand it can be done at the immobiliser control unit but I can't even find this. Auto data says it is in the lower drivers side dash area but I'm dammed if I can find it, to be fair I wouldn't even know what it looks like!

The car is a 1995 m reg 2.5td

some one please help before I go mad and buy some petrol and a box of matches.

thanks

Andy

Hi

When I spoke to vauxhall they said that I didn't need a car pass as this was the model before that came in.

The remote is one of those early ones with the button in the center then one on the side. The car is not here its on a mates drive but I am fairly sure it has the red dome near the sun roof.

cheers

Omega General Help / remote help

Hi and thanks in advance for you help!

I have a 2.5 TD omega on a '95.

The remote for the central locking and alarm has died so I have got my hands on a replacement. Is there a manual way to program this remote or is it a dealer job?  Can the aralm system be by passed or is it bulit in to the ecu. I do know there is a control unit for the alarm in the drivers kick well, could the system be by passed there allowing the car to start. I just need to get it running and am not bothered it the remote locking does not work.

To top of the problems I am having the battery has now gone flat with the dead locks on!

cheers

Andy
