/Francisc

i was looking for few hours for that and i didn't found anything in the engine compartment to resemble to the HBV from pictures.
What should i do with the free vacuum tube? leave it as it is?

I was working around the coil pack and i was thinking that i pulled out from somewhere. In the range of tube, i don't find anything.

I have A/C, and is working, at least in the summer was working :)

Omega General Help / I have HBV or i have something different?
« on: 14 April 2013, 09:57:01 »
Hej!

I started searching for HBV after i found a free vacuum tube. Theoretically it should go to the HBV. this one:

After few hours of searching and taking off different pieces, i found this picture on the forum (Thanks "Tick Tock" for the picture):

I started to follow the water tubes i found this on my Omega:

here goes the tube from inside of the car:

behind of engine:

I want to mention that my car has engine warming for the cold winter, and i think is the type what is warming the coolant and recirculating.

Actual questions:
1. what should be the problems with the tube free?
2. what i can do ?
3. what is that?

Thanks! abd sorry for my english.

Omega General Help / Re: powerless, hard to start or no start

update and another question:
I checked fusebox, removed my fuse nr 8 and puled out almost every fuse and checked. all seemed ok, just one, nr 3, was lite weird, changed, put keys in contact and.... started from first try.

My question: can a fuse be doing all this problems? thinking that fuse 18 was not doing proper contact?

I know, i still have to fix the other engine problems, hope that temp will rise lite, today was warm, -10 :)

Thanks, any ideas are still welcome.

Omega General Help / powerless, hard to start or no start
« on: 16 March 2013, 14:06:53 »
Hej !

for about 3 weeks was worse, less power, needed to accelerate harder and slow. Started to sound like a tractor.
one week ago i made a 100 miles trip hooping that is gonna be better, but was worse. 3 days ago i needed to return home. Was so powerless, tractor sound specially on  low rev. eated twice as much gas (usually on that road takes 7.5-8l/100km, now it was 14l/100km).
Yesterday i tried in the morning to start the car, no chance. emptied twice the battery, after that couplet to the battery of my Merc. In the end managed to start. similar sound as before. Checked the spark-plugs, second from right side (i think it is cylinder 4) was wet, the rest of them was white and 1 was lite black.
When i try to start, it starts the engine and shouts off instantly, like gas is not coming or something similar.
Problems i have for longer time:
1. losing water - but i'm losing around the motor warming, i was hooping the winter is ending to fix that, but probably i will fix now and see if i'm losing water on other places to. Amount of water lost- about 1l/week.
2. losing oil -about 500 ml/month or less. the right side of engine is oily, also lite oil on top of spark plugs, second and third right side.  (i'm not mentioning driver or passager, because for me driver side is in England passager side )

Error code: 143,144,145, 129 (for long time)  and 21 (this is new) .

Oil was changed, but i need to take lite out, is over limit.

What i can try? some ideas? what is the main problem?

Thanks!

Mvh,
/Francisc

the rest of emission was ok : Co 0,0 (max=0.5), CO 2500 0,1 (0,3), HC 038 (100), Lambda 1,05 (0.97-1.03).
I have the middle exhaust with possibly extra air intake. received with previous owner an big bump. I have a spare one and i will try to replace when i will do the shock absorber .

Thanks for ideas.

Can be that the hard-metal "wire" (i don't know what it is his name) jumped out from the locking mechanism ? On my door it was very easy to put away the safety plastic and to remove the "wire".

I did a short trip, just 25-30km.  Speed between 90km/h and 110km/h (70mil/h). omega is stabil compared to the other car what at 70 i felt my back running from street. The biggest problem in my area are ... reindeers. They are walking on the street in groups of 20-100 or more.
It can help, for me to reduce the speed, if i try with second gear instead of third?
Anyway, i feel the omega with more life, more power. Before i felt that i don't have any power below 2000rpm, now has more power at 1000rpm.

Thanks!

Hej! Yes i'm in the north of Sweden now and we have icy-roads/snow on roads, but with omega i can drive till max 110km/h (aprox60-70 miles/h). That i was thinking to drive as fast i can with max 3 gear.

Yesterday i started to try to fix as many things i can.
1. Change spark plugs: a lot of oil on top of them and the oil smell at petrol.
2. change the oil(strong petrol smell)
3. change rear brakes and disk(i will post photos of what was there :( )

remaining on the list:
1. rear shock absorber - waiting for order
2. change middle exhaust right side- it received a hard bump with some of previous owner, but i don't feel any air/gases coming from there. I have the middle for 2-3 months, i ordered together with the final what was missing :(

Something else what i should put on list? i will take the error codes later.

Thanks!

Omega General Help / mot: lambda fail
« on: 26 October 2012, 18:23:31 »
Hej!

I just had MOT and my car fail , so now i have 1 month to fix them.
1. handbrake was to high - this i can fix
2. rear shock absorber need to be changed - easy to fix, waiting for shockabsober
3. Lambda value raised idling speed - was 1.05 and value are between 0.97-1.03. Can i fix this if i'm going to re-cheeking with hot pipes? or is something what i need to cheek?

With respect,
Francisc
